Finally the weather is pleasant enough to sit out and enjoy the garden. Laptop, pen and notepad, guitar and vino - just perfect for writing some tunes.

More heart tests this week to see if I'm strong enough for my transplant op!
Why is this a happy thought I hear you say?! Well - I have to have a 'fatty' lunch apparently - yay, I get to have a Burger king or something while I'm in hospital which I don't normally do these days :) |
Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4
Good luck this week with your heart tests dilli and yes what a treat to have a takeaway while being in hospital.:)
|
Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4
Good Luck dilli with the hospital tests & enjoy your Burger King or whatever treat you decide.
|
Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4
Natalie phoned up the transplant people to start the process of giving me a kidney today - words cannot express how amazing she truly is!
|
Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4
Yes you are very lucky indeed dilli.:tu:

Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4
Oops, just had to go back and amend a section on a job application. I'm listening to Motorhead at the same time, and ended up putting down some of the lyrics to one of the songs. Doubt that would be viewed favourably!

My Brother in Law and my niece are up from Cleethorpes this week and are coming for dinner tonight. Hubby does not know this yet so it will be a pleasant surprise for him when he get's home.
Also I need to pinch myself as I've just received a phone call from my Insurance company and a very very nice man called Michael has informed me that a cheque will be sent out in the next few days for the expenses for the tree scientist report that we were instructed to have done via their/our solicitor that was working in our case. I must say I hadn't expected that, phoned hubby and he is absolutely delighted with this news. Today has been a really good day :) |
Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4
All in all weenie its been a very good day for you.:tu:

Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4
My mother is now a cyborg! Well she has a pacemeker and is out of the cardiac unit now and on the mend. Once she can be discharged my older sister and I are going down to collect her from the hospital and make sure she's happily back in her own home. At the moment she's somewhat confused.
Just submitted a meter reading for the gas and our next bill in August will be £20.51 for the quarter. :) Really only the hob in summer and most of the bill is standing charge. The lecky will be next but that's fairly constant as we rarely use it for heating. |
Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4
l am glad to hear about your Mum being on the mend heero and l hope her discharge goes well today so she can be settled again back home.
We had a lovely family day out in London as we will be going back to Devonia on Saturday. |
Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4
I'm off out to the hospital in a while to see if they can find my heart :)
|
Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4
Well my mum is still in hospital and Nil By Mouth (11 days :()
They want the Pancreas & Bowel surgery to heal fully, and apparently the pancreas cannot tell the difference between water and food so would release it chemicals that could harm what surgery has been done. She has been feed via TPN (Total Parenteral Nutrition) which is done via the veins so the nourishment goes directly to the body bypassing the stomach. No date yet on when she can start to drink or eat. The hardest thing was my mum being in hospital for her 49th wedding anniversary. Travel to and from hospital is a killer 3 hour round trip, but thanks to an Oyster card its not to bad £3.10 each way. |
Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4
My prayers and wishes are with your Mum Hom3r.
|
Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4
I know that not being home for her Anniversary must have been extremely difficult for both your Mum & Dad, but just focus on the big celebration next year that your family will have for your Mum & Dad's 50th Wedding Anniversary.
Best wishes to your Mum for a speedy recovery. |
Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4
Thanks
next year my sister and I are going to do a double party their 50th wedding anniversary, and Mums 70th. |
Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4
Now that will be some celebration Hom3r and I look forward to hearing all about next year.

Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4
Bought a manual at work for a Exciter & Vibrator. :D
Get the mind out of the gutter its a component from the ignition coil, for the "Sally B", the manual is dated circa 1943  |
Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4
As some of us went Sunday school when we were younger our minds would not think like that.;):D
|
Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4
So it's been more than six months since my heart attack / op and at the time the consultants / dr's all said that if I did nothing or waited I wouldn't still be here after that length of time.
So now every day is definitely a bonus :) |
Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4
Just cherish your life dilli with Natalie and your family as life is certainly very precious as one never knows what is around the corner.
|
Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4

Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4
My Happy Thought is.
Hubby got a letter in the post that looked important so I phoned him to see if he wanted me to open it. The letter was from HM Revenue & Customs and what a surprise we both got as he has received a tax overpaid amount letter with the cheque enclosed. Never in a month of Sunday's did we ever expect that news, heard of this happening but never expected ever happening to us. |

Funny you say that Jo we won £5.00 last night. We bought a hotpicks one number (18)
Yes the sun seems to be shining on us atm. On a big plus side whatever medicine my Mum is taking seems to be working wonders on her as she seems to be not as tired anymore. My Mum still needs to attend the hospital every 4 weeks but we can cope with that. Baby steps Jo that is what we are taking just going at Mum's pace at least now my Mum has admitted that she needs help with the housework which is quite something for an extremely proud lady, so I go once a week and give the house a right good blast. |

A mate of mine had his HUGE greenhouse broken into and most of his plants, including superhot chillies, destroyed.
They also slashed his liquid feed flexible tank. He makes a lot of his income from sauces and powders he makes, so was facing financial ruin. Just as he was about to open a shop based on chillies (also put on hold as the builders have gone bust). But the online chilli community I am part of has rallied around and he has been receiving replacement equipment and plants to get him going again. :D:tu: |

They are 13 and 22 Tinky and believe me they are really good kids most of the time. I get what you mean by saying they grow up fast as I cannot believe my eldest is 22, just cannot get my head around that he's a man but he will always be my boy.
They can be the kids from hell sometimes with each other especially when my eldest has his GF here and the wee one just simply annoys them or when the wee one has his friends around and it's the big ones turn to do the annoying but hey I wouldn't have it any other way :) |

Visited my mum today in hospital. She's much less vague especially as they've given her something to help her sleep so she doesn't drop off in mid sentence. Got the social services coming to assess the house for trip hazards.
We're also getting a care package put together so she can stay in her house. |

He is so enthusiastic, passed his medical and did his "icebreaker" presentation. Sat the BARB and Technical tests too. Tomorrow is the physical tests and teamwork followed by formal interview. Very proud of him. :) |

Mum comes out on Friday and my younger sister will be there to see her settle in. On the way down we passed The Worlds End pub and I mentioned it to my sister as it's really genuinely old, I'd only been there once many years ago, so we managed to stop there on the way back last evening, had to get the hammer down to get in for food but made it with 15 mins to spare and the food was really nice and not too pricey.:) Landlord told us that it was originally three cottages and the middle one was a small brewery before they were knocked into one drinking establishment. |
