I have a modem... seemed the only way to get reliable broadband as I had no end of trouble with STB's (Pace and Samsung).... I feel I must apologise in advance though, if I had a STB then all the modems users would be first... sod's law, and I AM SOD! ;)

Since there are two people I know in both HG1 and HG3 that have recieved upgrades, they must have been on STB's - lets hope us Modem users are next on the list today or 2moro.

Based upon my own experience, NTL tend to upgrade STB users last.

Just nipped home for lunch... still 2meg... not looking hopeful! Incideltally, anyone have a link to the statement about the 22nd, as I have not seen that.

Many apologies for laziness - not followed thread, just kept nipping in to see what was what.
Released IP this morning and rebooted Samsung STB. Now got:

I'm on (or was on) 2mb silver tier.

Happy to have been upgraded in OL4 (Oldham).
Up and down speeds great and consistent.

go to command prompt, then:

ipconfig /release

then

ipconfig /renew

You dont have to do that though, they talkin balls ;)

Does anybody know why STB users have been upgraded first this time? Every upgrade i've been part of they've been last. STB were upped to 4mbit last week in Stoke while the modem users are being made to wait. Wouldn't it make sense to upgrade STB and Modems in one area at a time? Instead of seperately

Maybe there are less users connected via STB's - gives NTL chance to bring the changes into effect slowly maybe?
