I wonder if Johnson will actually stand? Maybe he feels too much resistance despite being confident of the numbers, maybe worried about the privileges committee finding against him and taking the mantle now as the economy declines?

My MP has written to his constituency members to take preference soundings.

I also think that any public declarations are foolish because they can be divisive. I’m surprised that Wallace ddidn’t keep his ammo dry.

I saw some speculation that the actual nominations are secret so it's possible people are making public declarations and voting another way.
