VM can't win, really.

Not really because virgin tell us nothing at all, it's the sources who tell us. If they know a pvr has a 5 year shelf life so last year is 5 years, they should be in development so we aren't left with boxes like that, in a earlier post they was testing box last year and we still wait.

It is confirmed that the user interface will be overhauled, and not just on the new Tivos.

The term "overhauled" has a different meaning to different people. Be interesting to see what VM upper management mean by overhauled.

As l say anybody can talk the talk but its walking the walk that matters and l will reserve judgement until the time is right.

...and VM appear to be on a rather long walk, protracted walk.

It sounds as if you are very dissatisfied Andrew. Maybe Sky would be a better choice for you?

Very interesting.

A genuinely innovative TV package may tempt me to use the thing more rather than almost pure OTT.

I agree but sadly all the rumours of a new TiVo this year was incorrect according to the article

It paper talk and Scotland will win Euro 2016...

We have seen three DNP orders on the two new TiVo boxes.

Indeed if customers are unhappy then they have the choice to look for something better as there are plenty of choices out there.

I'm out of patience. I'm tied to a VM contract that expires next February. We don't watch a massive amount of TV and a combination of NowTV and Netflix will probably be sufficient for us, assuming that NowTV doesn't rocket in price and the new Roku4-based box is a further improvement on previous models.
Not looking good for my 16-year-old relationship with NTL/Virgin. I'd keep their broadband but may wave farewell to the TiVos and the over £1000 a year for a phone and TV service that's barely used

Well this info are you talking about this year or next year, because the earlier info about August seems to be unconfirmed by virgin media

" At the turn of the year it will launch a new set-top box to rival Sky Q, with ultra-high-definition pictures and a similar ability to sling programmes to tablets and smartphones around the home. Beyond that, there will be a major overhaul of the ageing plumbing that powers Virgin Media’s broadcasting, to allow it to shift to Liberty Global’s next generation distribution system, Horizon, which is already in use elsewhere in Europe."

I think MB's DNPs are out of date.

A lot has come out in the press recently, so I'll be surprised if it's something that hasn't already been mentioned.

Or the sources are just stringing MB along, hope not though :-)

Keep up the good work everyone.

Well, maybe things will look different by next February, nialli! I am a little surprised that such a good news article has been received so badly on here!
