Very worrying isn't it. I thought VM would start spending money now it supposedly had deeper pockets. It's scrimping more, not investing in new channels, bills are going up and their catchphrase is "on netflix for only 5.99!!!"

How is it scrimping dear chap as it paid a lot out for BT Sports to go onto the XL pack and that's something Sky certainly ain't going to do.

To be honest Dave I have BT included with my BB and quite frankly hardly watch it , I certainly wouldn't pay to subscribe.

No, I haven't noticed that at all.

Channels added since the takeover:
BBC 3 HD
BBC 4 HD
BBC News HD
BTSport1
BTSport1HD
BTSport2
BTSport2HD
CBBC HD
CBeebiesHD
Food Network
FOX+
GINX
horror +1
Lamhe
London Live
More 4 HD
MTV HD
MTV MUSIC
Nick HD
Notts TV
Premier Sport
Reality +1
STV Glasgow
Travel Channel

I make that one premium channel (which was free for months), plus BT Sports if you don't take XL

How is:
1. Launching all the above channels
2. Buying Smallworld
3. Buying 50% of All3Media (Skins, Hollyoaks, Towie, Undercover Boss)
4. Upgrading network to 150 Mb
5. Being Official Partner of the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow
Scrimping?

I can't see it myself, and I'm not pretending VM is perfect.

VM lost content leadership of the on-demand content market when it was independent. LGI needs to regain the lead in this area.

Been told there's a big behind closed doors meeting happening this week, no-one knows what it's about yet but source thinks it has something to do with tv side of things, possibly talks withTivo for new box?
I'll update you all when i find out/if my source finds out.

Personally l would like a six tuner TiVo and a bigger memory as we have to pick and choose what we can record many times over.

the box with 17 tuners is no good if it has no content to show on it :)

With such a big overhaul of the Tivo, it would make sense for VM to think about 4K capabilities too.

No point in increasing capacity and then having to do it again for 4K.
They may already have this in mind ;)

I agree den but ESPN has been in XL for free for many years now and our bills have been going up. It's still a great deal and we are very lucky but bills keep going up.

But won't cloud recording make the amount of tuners a moot point ?
