Lets make it a little clearer, I pay a lot of money for Sky, I also have VM but IF l had the red button service on VM, l would go over to VM, BUT VM take off channels wihtout warning, and the quality of servive is poor.

We are going to have the same scenario as with the basic channels, VM want something for nothing, and when l say ' an idiot' The customer is the most important person, and they should have the oppotunity for the channels they want, NOT for the company to choose.

Many years ago, there was brilliant channel out called Horizon (l think that was what it was called). VM split it into two, and the content of it was crap, l contacted VM, and l was told that viewers didn't want it, an yet it was very popular, and yet VM took it off without warning - are they listening to the customer - NO

According to DS, VM wont be having Sky Atlantic very soon over price, l am a Sky sub also, so why should VM customers have the new channel on the cheap.

I obviously don't know the details, so this is just my opinion, but I don't think Virgin want it on the cheap they just want it at a fair price.

If Sky want to use their money muscle to poach shows like Madmen from the BBC, then they shouldn't expect other providers to pick up part of the tab by charging inflated prices for the channel it's on.

I believe you mean UKTV Horizons. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UK_Horizons

It was split in 2004. Both channels that it was split into still exist so nothing was taken off.

Had nothing to do with VM as they didn't even exist then - plus it is a UKTV channel for which VM (or Telewest when they were the ones that had the share) have any editorial control.

Finally the changes would have happened on Sky as well as cable

Arthur, I know you have but a passing acquaintance with facts, but it was Sky who took off/closed down Bravo, Channel One/Virgin 1, etc - they bought the channels, and then stopped broadcasting them not long after.

And you also seem to confuse "you" with "the majority of customers".

Stop assuming. How do you know VM even want it? Going by viewing figures even most Sky customers don't want it.

There is nothing special about that channel that warrants anything but a budget price channel. It is a second rate channel that despite a marketing campaign did diddly squat to diffrenciate out Sky from VM in any significance.

People need to get over this whole Sky thing. Just because a channel has Sky before it doesn't make it good.

Even without Skys channels Virgin should be adding more channels, they are quick enough to jack up prices quickly.

It's not a second rate channel; it's got many award winning drams on it. Niel Berkett has said it's a good product; he just wants it at a fair price.

Then they should pay the fair price, Neil Berkett should listen to his customers more instead of sitting in his ivory tower giving out vague dates for this and that.

If they paid a price and then said your monthly was to rise by £5 would you still be happy.

Yes l would be happy to pay a little extra, we should be given that choice to start off with, they should have different tariffs so customers can pick and choose to what they want and don,t want.

I would not be at all happy to be forced to pay extra for a channel I would hardly ever, if ever watch.

I would be much happier if they spent the money on more quality VOD content.

This is a channel that shows mostly old stuff that has been on VM VOD or terrestrial channels already with.a few new shows. Why should VM substidise Sky for the stupid amount they have paid. After all looking back to the basics fiasco a few years ago sky's idea of fair is definitely not realistic.
