i changed hte DNS worked fine, now same problem im in bracknell, berkshire, anyone reccomend a good proxy for me to use until NTL has sorted this out?

Still getting probs here in Notts can get onto Google and ebay sometimes but no pics come up.

Lol, this place is like a sanctuary for people who are ****ed off by NTL poor connection... out of every sites, cable forum always seems to work when there's problem. :angel:

No Google here unless I use .com instead of .co.uk The network was down at work today also - again, a DNS issue. I blame solar flares.

I can get to lots of other sites besides the BBC,google and yahoo though.

OK unfortunately I don't have time to read this whole thread so this has probably been mentioned/answered, but I think NTL's caches use the 192.168.[4|8].100 DNS servers? So when these die, so do the caches?

The mixed browsing results are probably due to caching... Doesn't seem a too resilient setup to me?

I have counted at least 3 times this has happened :(

They've probably had people working throughout the night as well on this, a national outage isn't a "wait until tomorrow" job at all.

Hopefully you should see normal or at least some operation by the end of today or tomorrow, who knows. I trust you have another form of access though?
