Just spoke to CS who claim that 10meg won't be rolled out for 3meg customers until sometime next year. Might just be my area or the sammy STB i have, but not good news for customers (or NTL) if it is true. |

For people with the samsung, maybe if you complained about the writing going off the screen, they will give you a modem.I am thinking about doing this, but they will probaly give me a pace instead.

New to the forum but will let you know what I have been told by ntl Customer Services. I had my broadband upgraded from 3MB to 10MB on Wednesday. I am currently only getting 5MB Down but full speed Up. I am using a ntl:120 modem. As I am moving house next week, but still staying in same area, I asked about having a new ntl:250 modem installed when the engineer comes to connect my service at the new house, as I am not getting the full 10MB Down. The Customer Service Rep said that everyone with a ntl:120 modem will be getting a new ntl:250 modem as they are not releasing any firmware updates. These new modems will be released in batches but Cust Servs were unable to say when they would start delivering the new modems, but did say it would be this year if you are currently on the 3MB service. Hope this all makes some sense to some people. |
Re: *ALL* ntl 10MB Discussion (Part 3)
so why is this? I read on this site that a couple of people in my area now have >5Mb, yet i don't. 'ok...' i thought, 'i'll give NTL a call and ask..'. so i did. I was told by a polite Scottish woman that only selected people were getting 10Mb (as well as new users) as part of a pilot. Fair enough, I thought, and left it there.
In the last 20 minutes, I have been speaking with a friend of mine who lives in the same town as myself. He is also on 3Mb, yet when he calls NTL (within the last 20 minutes) and asks them the same thing, they upgrade him straight away, no questions asked!?!?!? So, I call NTL again and explain the whole situation, but once more, they tell me it is pilot and that 10Mb is not available in my area!! He's shown me the screen shots of him using 10Mb!!! Not in my area??? Pilot??? What's going on???? |

I have been upgraded and I live v close to you also as you know ;) meh maybe is you tell them you will cancel and go on ADSL (they might just listen then ;) ) (bah your not in work today) :p |

Is browsing the net faster with the new 10MB or is it only faster when it comes to downloads?

Your modem will support the 10Mbit connection fine. As for phoning up and getting it, well thats a little hit and miss at the moment. You can always try but it depends who u speak too. Quote:
