With the risks of terrorists or even loonies trying to glue themselves to it or blow it up or steal it that the security forces would risk the body of our late Queen?

It's safely stashed in a London morgue ready for the final ceremonies.

Well, much as I support the monarchy, the UK has gone way over the top on this, although with so many people getting themselves in a state of near mental breakdown about the Queen’s passing at 96 years old, one can see why.

Just as you thought we couldn’t go any further OTT, we get this:

https://rxtvinfo.com/2022/bbc-parlia...te-live-stream

[EXTRACT]

The BBC will carry a live stream of the HM The Queen’s lying-in-state for the benefit of those who want to pay their respects, but who cannot come to London or who are physically unable to queue.

So people are going to watch a live stream of a stationary box! What are we coming to?

The Queen certainly couldn’t have been any more dedicated to her role. She was an excellent role model and hopefully our new King will emulate that during his remaining years.

Is the live stream harming you in some way ?
I really dont see the issue if people want to view it.

She is the only monach most people have known, so its an historic event.
Its also a massive distraction to take peoples minds of the current economic issues.
.. and royalist or not, no one can deny she was well liked by pretty much the whole world.

My point is, it’s a live stream of a box. A little odd to be watching that, don’t you think?

No, it doesn’t affect me at all, and I didn’t say that it did. But…..

Oh, never mind.

This is not something new in the world as THIS has been broadcast for decades.

Looks to me like a livestream of people paying homage to our departed Monarch, and allowing those who aren’t there to share in that.

We’ve had hours of that already on the main BBC channel, but I guess if it makes people happy, fair enough.

This seems like a low-cost timely offering to me that's accessible to almost everyone in the UK.

I suppose it brings a new sense to watching the box.

Bizarre, they could be spending the time usefully doing some charity work, or anything else productive rather than waiting to see a closed box.

RIP QE2, you were the one royal I respected, but I'll be going out for a nice long walk on Monday.

Instead of going on a long walk on Monday, why aren’t you spending that spare time volunteering at your local food bank? Very selfish of you.

Maybe because they are closed?

Some UK food banks will close on the day of Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral.

A number of distribution centres and warehouses will shut across the UK on Bank Holiday Monday.

Some of the first to announce they would be closing include those in Stoke-on-Trent, and Keynsham in Bristol.

Others in Liverpool, Stockport, Sunderland and County Durham have also followed suit.

So not all then, Pierre’s point still stands.

Also, enough of the pedantry Hugh, the need to constantly try and correct someone all the time. Just so unnecessary, I think especially in this thread.

To all: I’m tired of reading miserable, negative Anti-monarchy sentiments, keep such thoughts to yourself, they are unwanted and disrespectful.
