Thanks. I'll check
if I have TMP, then I'll give it a go.

My PC is showing signs of its age ie dvd dead ,won't support windows 11 . What basic things should l look out for if and when l go for a new one. . Uses are very basic. Don't use it for games, films etc . mostly social media , e mails , and simple uses on Excel.

desktop tower? there are some excellent prebuilds for fair prices all over the place starting likely cheaper than you would think

It would be a lot cheaper to just replace the DVD. :)
Stick with whatever Windows you have, there is nothing compelling about W11.

AllowUpgradesWithUnsupportedTPMOrCPU value 1

My Intel Core i5-6600 3.30GHz (Released 2015) CPU has PTT, which wasn't enabled. I have enabled it. PC health check now says that TPM 2.0 is enabled. but my PC spec still isn't sufficient for W11. The CPU is not supported by W11.

Is it appropriate to use your hack at this stage?

EDIT: System/setup doesn't have MoSetup . Is there an alternative key for my system?

I would use backupper to create a system image first and then I would go for it. Do you have a second drive for the backup?

---------- Post added at 22:16 ---------- Previous post was at 22:15 ----------

The hack comes from MS

Have found that system/setup doesn't have MoSetup . Is there an alternative key for my system?

I use Acronis for my system images.

EDIT: Have created MoSetup using 'NEW' and have created the key as suggested. PC Health still says the PC is not compatible. Should I use the media creation method opting for reinstall W11?

This says run the exe from the iso/usb so create the media then run it perhaps although the upgrade will likely do the same. It says it then gives a warning rather than a rejection

Progress. Began to install but failed on the second reboot.

Error 0x800F0830
Failed in the SAFE-OS phase with an error during INSTALL_UPDATES operation.

Could be external devices or driver problems, even though I had done a full Windows 10 update. I remember this sort of problem installing W10 on an older machine.

Yes it was, including a second attempt where I uninstalled f-secure and drivers for cameras etc. Same error.

Can I assume that having the internet disconnected stops the installer looking for updates and thereby causing it to fall over? You next answer will tell me whether I want to continue with this or not.

I got a warning telling me that even if I do manage to install W11, I won't get build updates anyway. If that is the case, my attempts end here.

BTW Thanks for your help so far.

Re: Windows 11

That is my theory on it
I thought the warning was may not get updates down the line?
If it was me I would continue cuz I enjoy playing with this sort of thing, if however you are not enjoying the experiment then stop now. The good side of all this is you keep backups as you said you use acronis so you are not losing anything but a bit of time :)

Success. Disconnecting from the internet did the trick.

Full install followed by successful updates.

Thanks.
