Indeed, absolutely screams of innocence.

However on the flip side of it, i have to ask of the victim what's more important, the money? or the requirement for justice?

It's not the principle, it's the money clearly. :erm: she's given him his get out of jail card, probably literally.

I see the payment was made to her charity so presumably she does not benefit from it.

It's been settled in the court so the Prince is not guilty.

Not quite so bad then, still would have been interesting to see first hand if he really doesn't sweat.

Definitely not been found guilty in a court of law - such a charitable fella, giving someone a lot of money for no reason…

Nothing to see here, move along now…

From across the pond…

In a one-page statement filed in U.S. District Court in Manhattan on Tuesday, the parties agreed that Andrew “never intended to malign Ms. Giuffre’s character, and he accepts that she has suffered both as an established victim of abuse and as a result of unfair public attacks..”

The statement continues that it is “known that Jeffrey Epstein trafficked countless young girls over many years. Prince Andrew regrets his association with Epstein, and commends the bravery of Ms. Giuffre and other survivors in standing up for themselves and others."

"He pledges to demonstrate his regret for his association with Epstein by supporting the fight against the evils of sex trafficking, and by supporting its victims,” the statement continues.

The settlement comes shortly after a federal judge in New York overseeing the lawsuit sought help from courts in the United Kingdom and Australia to secure the testimony of witnesses living in those countries.

A notice filed to the same judge on Tuesday said that, in light of the settlement, Giuffre would be withdrawing her civil claims against Andrew.

I wonder if it will have his name and title on the charity.

Not unless he changes his name by Deed Poll to Prince Victims Refuse Silence…

No. The only reason you settle is because you think there is a chance you may lose.

He is “ not guilty” only because it has not gone to trial.

I hope he now disappears under a rock and doesn’t return.

In regards to her, It’s not like she was driven around in a taxi in Rotherham or Rochdale. She’s already been compensated - but she’s done well to squeeze a bit more cash out it all.

The Duke of York will pay his accuser more than £12 million using money from the Queen, The Telegraph can disclose.

£12 million is a lot for an innocent man to pay out. Mummy has coughed up, so that's all sorted...

It was a civil lawsuit so never a case of guilt or innocence. In English law the correct term is liability. Not certain of the equivalent in the US but it will be similar. By settling out of court he will never be held liable for any of the things in her complaint. Whether or not he did them, we will never really know.

£7.5m is still a lot but other sources seem to think it's closer to that.

Daily Mail going for a lower figure of £7.5m

Sky quotes a lawyer suggesting £7.4m
Quote:

Lisa Bloom, a lawyer for a number of Jeffrey Epstein's victims, suggested a donation from Prince Andrew to Ms Guiffre's charity could be as much as $10m (£7.4m).
