You know if you got DVD or Blu Ray's the films would look crystal clear and have amazing colours. Plus they would sound stunning.

I dunno.....I just wanna know why they only ruin VHS/Beta releases Stevie?

One mans justice (1995) for example is flat and contrasted way down.... I copied it to another tape (SLP mode) and its a little better,contrast not as toned down......

What about bob (1991) is digitally mastered and looks horrible....... (Wierd colours,etc)

I finally found a copy recorded off HBO sometime in the early 90s....Much better!!

I don't see how a Tape recording can be improved by copying it to another tape.

By its analogue nature every copy made from an original will be worse than the last.

Then again my Star Wars VHS tapes look terrible and always has. Colours are really faded but then after years of making tapes from their masters it would be.

Wasn't until the DVDs and Blu Rays they went back and remastered the negatives bringing the colours back to what they should be.

I dunno but im glad it does!



CONSPIRACY THEORY (1997) the colours are very light and it doesnt look very good cause of it.... I copied the official tape to another in SLP mode and the colours are richer..... (Audio level about the same)

It can't do that's the thing.

Everytime a tape is played the tape gets worn by the head making contact, and everytime said tape is copied it degrades further. That's how older tapes mostly get damaged or fail. The master tapes they used for making all the retail copies would get replaced after so many copies were made from it.

Whereas with LaserDiscs, DVDs and Blu Ray discs maintain their picture over time is that no contact is made with the disc. Unless they suffer disc rot.

Blackfoot - No reservations (First album)

A couple years ago I had thier second album and I didnt like it really but this first album really kicks!!

I got 2 records on sunday :)

1) Lee Ritenour - Banded together -- EXCELLENT!!! (I hadnt ever heard of him (It was in the $1 bin))

2) Taylor dayne - Tell it to my heart (12" single) - Im glad the single version is on here as thats the only one I like.. (The one I heard most on the radio)

I got a cassette today :)

3) CASSETTE: Madonna - True Blue
4) CASSETTE: ZZTop - Eliminator -- THIS IS A GERMANY RELEASE AND IT HAS THE GOOD VERSION OF LEGS ON IT!! (4:35)

Its on CHROME tape so I hope it sounds ok..... All other cassettes/8 tracks I have heard on this darker tape DO NOT sound as good......

It sounds goregous.... This is the same master thats on the 8track.. Thats why the original 'legs' is on it......(Before they changed it to that garbage single)

I got UFOs first album on cassette today (UFO 1)

Its a re-issue .. It says MADE IN IRELAND,it has paper labels and the cassette # is AKC3

Discogs says its 1982 and for 1982 of a 1970 album,it sounds pretty good!



I wanna get the original!!!!!

2) CASSETTE: Chicago 16 - This one sounds excellent compared to most Chicago 16 stuff (records/cassettes) I have tried to get.. (Thin sounding trash)

Bought a re-release of The Fugees The Score on Ltd edition Orange Vinyl. Still one of the greatest albums ever IMO.
