No it was always a single channel. From the series 1 manual "A series pass records every episode of the series that airs on the selected channel". If you wanted every channel you could use a wishlist. I remember one time getting home to find the F1 had been moved to BBC2 and being delighted that Tivo had recorded it as a suggestion, which I could then use to create a 2nd series link for the future. Sadly that would never happen since VM changed the suggestions algorithm. Of course we did not have an many channels back then.
I see there are lots of reports of the new update being even slower than it already was. I wonder if that is caused by all channel series links with it processing hundreds of channels in the background every few hours. I bet many of us have old series links that will result in "all channel" links unnecessarily as well as cases where we genuinely want to record from 2 channels without hundreds more.
On the subject of deleting programs, which someone said is fixed, is that in the current update? The usual problem is where Tivo is nowhere near full but clears Tivo down to something like 60% full apparently to make room for future recordings. Is that officially a bug or by design and has it been changed? |
