Lets take away libya past hijackings, lockerbie and hatred to gadaffe which clouds all our judgement whether it right or wrong. When you look at it makes no moral sense whatsoever especially when we ignored others. Did we help the townships in AFRICA nope we let the murdering whites kill them. Have we even bothered to help bahrain/yemen nope.

Have we helped other nations civil unrest nope. Did we protect palistinian people from rape, murder and steeling of homes from jews.

We simply cant take moral high ground if we or the un turn blind eye to ather situations.

US,French and britain dont give flying .... to the common libian while the got blood lust of oportunity to kill a hated man. Lets make no bones is there truly any difference to iraq situation whether we got the green light or not this nothing to do with protecting people.

Cameron two faced will he abandon cuts while he wastes money on another War. How can he defend national cuts while wasting billions in actions.

He moaned about labour wasting money in iraq/afghanistan. Will he help financially Japan like labour correctly helped tsunami victims. No doubt he would done the same helping his banking buddies in the banking collapse.

So lets not forget how our debt racked up in the firstplace.

Complete two faced is cameron.

I think i agree ,this is something we should not be involved in .He has been in power for 40 yrs or thereabouts ,executing critics,on foreign soil, ordering assignations of various world leaders ,going to war with Egypt ,ordering bombings ,the list goes on and yet we do nothing apart from sanctions and issuing statements condeming the "mad dog" .
I afraid this is typical western hypocrasy as far as i am concerend ,we only intervene when we have something to lose never for humanitarian reasons

We are making British forces redundant in defence cuts, and yet sending them to a bloody war. What about the defence of our country.

arthur it is your beloved labour government which are responsible for british soldiers being made redundant! in entering iraq and afghan is what caused the massive black hole (well not entirely but it contributed a lot)

As was said elsewhere, just because we can't do everything, doesn't mean we shouldn't do something......

Love your selective memory, Arturo old chap.

TB was criticised because he took action (with his mucker Bush) without a UN mandate - this action has the full backing of the UN.

Facts, Arturo, facts - try them, you may grow to like them.....;)

Arthur

By any chance are you part of a group who are trying to change history to make it look like Labour did no wrong over the last 12 years or so ????

Cameron and the rest are responding to a clear, unambiguous UN Security Council resolution that calls on UN member states to protect Libyan civilians.

Tony Blair did not have a clear, unambiguous UN resolution.

What defence? Who is attacking us?

Exactly, why they don't just admit that i don't know.

because that would make the UN look like an uncaring, inefficient dinosaur ,not bothered which tyrant runs a country as long as they share the black stuff which of course would be inaccurate

Really don't understand why this intervention is unpopular.

We are going in with the full backing of the UN. Member states keep committing resources and we're going in to stop people being murdered by their own government, they asked us to do so...

Re: [Update] Allied Forces taking Immediate military action in Libya

Our armed forces are doing what they have always done for their country.Protect and defend and fight for potential resources for their country..They have done so ever since we developed a standing army/navy.

Remember the cod wars?
