County season, what there is of it, finishing today. Streaming live on BBC Sport in delayed grainy vision (streaming definitely not the future for live sport !)
Amazingly cricket still being played into October this year. |

Great saving 4th Innings from India against Aus. Very ungracious Aussies the worst sledging I've heard, and that cheat Smith deliberately scuffing up the batman's guard on the the pitch!
|
Re: English Cricket
Fantastic win by India one of the best ever in cricket. You can keep 20/20, its nothing compared to a Test Match going to the wire.
Got to feel for those Aussies.... :D |

Been having a look round but can’t find them yet. All 4 is something I rarely use and compared to BBC iPlayer it appears poor.
I can navigate to each days play but there is no option to view it, only record.:( |

Mark Waugh and many other ex cricketers have been damning about the state of this pitch.
One compared it to a sandpit. |
Re: English Cricket
The England squad rotation is bizarre. They seem to be flying different players in and out for every Test. Doesn't seem the brightest covid secure plan. Can't work out why players like Anderson and Broad need so much rest they hardly ever play !

Well thankfully it’s into day three, should be an interesting day tomorrow.

Re: English Cricket
Well Yorkshire made a better fist of it in the second innings. Still defeat by an innings and 79 runs is still a bit of a beating on an absolute belter of a wicket.

Re: English Cricket
Pathetic negative display from England today, after a very sporting NZ declaration. No faith in our batsmen and resting our best players because of IPL ! Thought Tests were supposed to come first? Ashes could be an embarrassment this winter.

Re: English Cricket
Is Root in the side for his bowling, his batting, fielding and captaincy is poor atm

Re: English Cricket

NZ are the better team by far and deserve to be in the World Test final. Our mistake is always preparing for the Ashes, resting our best players and not giving any other team any respect. Funnily enough, we are just warm up fodder for NZ this time, for their big game next week. |
Re: English Cricket
Anyone know why Liam Livingstone and Sam Curran stuck their bats right up under the front of their shirts as they walked off at the end of the game last night. Surely it wasn't to protect them from the light rain that was falling?

No interest in this Hundred malarkey but Lancashire have lost nine 1st team players to the various city franchises and yet the ECB expects them to play in the 50 over, one day cup at the same time as the hundred is taking place. I wonder if any other county has been as seriously depleted as this.
As a Lancashire member I think I should be due compensation. |

Doubts over the final Test Match tomorrow due to covid cases in the Indian camp.
Would be quite convenient for them in a way as they were begging for this last match to be cancelled a few months ago due to the rearranged IPL, and now of course they're 2-1 up. Cynical moi? |

Re: English Cricket
I don't follow the cricket but when Iwe dove past on Wednesday and the staff were all beavering away setting up the hospitality area at the front of the grounds. We commented that it was a sign of things starting to get back to normal ...well the new version. The area is usually buzzing on a match day, loads of traffic and hundreds walking to the venue with their umbrellas and cool boxes. I feel sorry that this match can't go ahead so many people will be disappointed.
Hope the Indian team members who have tested positive don't suffer any major complications. |
