No no, Moyes was the right man for the job etc... |
Re: Football Season 2014/15
Rodwell joins Sunderland
Published: 05 August, 2014 by Stuart Vose OFFICIAL: Midfielder signs five-year contract. Sunderland have completed the signing of midfielder Jack Rodwell from Barclays Premier League champions Manchester City. The highly sought-after 23-year-old has penned a five-year deal on Wearside and joins for an undisclosed fee. Rodwell rose through the ranks at Everton, making his debut at the age of 16 in a European tie against AZ Alkmaar in December 2007. His league bow – as a substitute against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light – came three months later before the Southport-born midfielder went on to become a regular for the Toffees. Rodwell, who has been capped on three occasions at senior level by England, made 109 appearances for Everton before joining Manchester City in summer 2012. He spent two seasons at the Etihad Stadium, during which time he represented City in the UEFA Champions League as well as the Barclays Premier League and domestic cup competitions. Welcome Jack :):):):) |

United reserves beat City 4-1 tonight, James Wilson scored all 4 United goals he looks an exceptional talent. So much potential, hopefully he can get some time in the first team this season.

http://worldsoccertalk.com/2013/10/1...ar-comparison/ I think it probably is more competitive in England these days but that's not due to our top two teams getting worse rather than rest of the league catching up |

Also the pressure at a club like Barcelona or Madrid is immense. They're very unforgiving fans. Fabregas found that out pretty quickly and he wasn't still performing pretty well....

Re: Football Season 2014/15
My prediction for the top 4
1st - Man City 2nd - Chelsea 3rd - Arsenal 4th Man Utd Sorry Den. I had choice for 4th, with you and Man Utd, but because you are in europe, and they aren't, I put them ahead. the other team vying for 4th was arsenal, only because if they finish there again, it will be renamed a wenger :). |
Re: Football Season 2014/15
no way does Wenger need another year to have 4th renamed. he owned it. and now its a new era. a couple more signings and it'll be Arsenal 1st :p:

Who knows, they could either surprise like last year, or struggle....but guess we will see. And i say the same for Man Utd...just don't know which way they will go |

Re: Football Season 2014/15
Travel possibly? Virgin trains are notorious for being a bit tight when it comes to last train back to Manchester and if the game went to ET and/or penalties then fans would have missed it so they decided to stay home and watch it on TV instead.

Re: Football Season 2014/15
I went to see Arsenal at Old Trafford in the FA Cup a few years ago. It has a mad rush to get back in time for the last train to London, people packed onto it and were standing for the entire journey (i got a seat!). It's mad and that was a Saturday.

They only fill the City of Manchester stadium when the big teams come to town.:p: Many times last season when matches where televised there where loads of empty seats in the home stands. It is the middle of the main holiday season and the cost of travel and uncertainty of being able to return on the day would be the main reasons for the empty seats at Wembley though. |
