In a explosive twist in the BT Sport fiasco BomberAF may have been right all along.

I think they'll probably be added after midnight tonight as don't VM normally add channels on a Tuesday and Thursday?

hahaha i am thoroughly amused by all these bomberAF comments though. He is a living legend on this forum.

he'd posted before
he made an unbelievable prediction which was utterly amazing and wonderful
he left never to be heard of again

The error was that they put it live prematurely. But VM are clearly preparing a new web page including BT Sports 1 and BT Sports 2 in those holes.

No, BT havent wholesaled the channels to Sky, however those who order it direct from BT on Sky get a log in for the BT App

Whether a deal is done or not they still need to prepare and test websites, channels and online streaming pages in advance so they are ready if/when a deal is done. So no reason to take any of the tests noticed as an indication of a deal.

Didn't Bomber say a deal was already done and starting on August 1st? Didn't we have after the 1st executives from BT and Virgin say there was no deal yet?

Nuff said

They don't need to do those tests on the live network and the live website, though. They can do that on a test one.

Not saying it's 100% certain, because I've been in enough situations where people have been stupid enough to 'live test' something! But just saying.

But they have a live EPG stream, which they would have to be granted access too by BT, and they have updated the ESPN HD channel number. If they were testing before a deal was done they wouldn't be allowed to test with the BT Sport name, it would have to be under another name, otherwise, if someone spots, as seen here, it could be constituted as false advertising, and screw up any chance of a deal.

Bombers last post apparently said, "if not August 1st, then not long after"

But testing out of sight on a test network wouldn't tease customers or possibly reassure them enough that the channel is coming, which is a good way of retaining customers ready to jump ship, in a similar way to 'accidently' putting up a BT sports page on your main website....

Considering the PL starts on August 17th, ANYONE could have come up with that prediction. Bombers post was his opinion and not inside information, his other posts were worded in such a way that it was obvious this was the case. Seems obvious he just wanted peopel to think he had inside info.

The EPG may be a better indication, I don't know though.

The links for BT Sport 1 and 2 on Virgin Anywhere no longer work, now come as error!

However, ESPN still works at this time and still appears on channel 542 on their online EPG!

I wouldn't worry about Qtx's post. He's back, and as previously, just want's to put a downer on anything potentially good happening to Virgin Media. You know, leopard and spots...

It's not 100% certain, but the nature and fun of this thread is to look at little signs such as this, which may or not mean anything, as a potential pointer to coming channels. If people don't want VM to get new channels, they tend to rubbish these things.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2013) Vol. 4.

It might be where they've agreed a deal but not to announce or sign it until the day before the premier league football starts so BT can try and get customers to move on over??

Legally is that allowable?? They don't need to announce it as it hasnt been signed but its been agreed in principle and will be signed friday for example?? So would that mean they wouldnt need to announce to markets etc??

I don't think this has happened i'm just trying to logically explain why these events may be happening etc

Or maybe they (Sky customers like Qtx) don't like to think about the fact that they're having to pay for BT Sport where we MAY get it included at no extra cost and they're having palpitations ;) lol

You're right, of course - testing still needs to be done in case a deal suddenly materialises, and then they're good to go. But, as has been said, this surely doesn't need to be done on a live website???

Whatever happens, BomberAF was wrong. He may well have posted in good faith - I firmly believe that he did - but the information was incorrect.

He may well be aware of what's happening but he is 'embargoed'. It must be getting clear now to all but the most hardened doomsayers that BT Sport is almost here now. You'll all be able to watch Liverpool versus Stoke after all (unless there's an outage, of course!)

Well, that's the bit that we are all waiting to hear about. However, my best guess is that it will be in XL. If that is the case, then it's an excellent deal for VM viewers
and those who jumped ship early will be wishing they were a little more patient.

It seems obvious that VM will get BT sports, possibly just in time for the PL on the 17th. Depending on what agreement BT and VM come to will dictate what it costs to customers and if it will be included in any packs. BT would have some interest in which TV packages it goes in I would have thought due to advertising. They did want to have it separate instead of wholesale which would have had customers paying BT directly but VM doesn't work like that.

Guess there is a chance VM could re-arrange their packages due to all this.

Very XMBC looking, which in my opinion is a good thing. Tivo has great features but still, as has always been the case with uk cable, the user interface is clunky and clumsy.

If the bugs can be ironed out of Horizon, I would like to see it introduced here too. Wouldn't say no to the fouth tuner either, very, very, handy.

Meh. I don't buy that. Information doesn't go up on a live site from 'previous' (no change?) information unless your server farm is totally shocking. It was a 'live test', I'm pretty confident in that.

You: hey, i just wanted to know the plans about BT sports
Matt: I would be happy to assist you with BT Sports.
Matt: May I ask if you're already a Virgin Media customer?
You: no, so i was just wondering if its being added
Matt: Thank you for information.
Matt: We are currently in negotiations with BT Sports. We’re making every effort to ensure that our customers get a great service with the channels they want.
You: there have been rumors saying its being added tonight? is this true?
Matt: I am sorry, we don't have any such information, when we will get we will let you know.
You: but you dont, customers are the last to find out...
Matt: We will update our customer.
You: on ur website early today it said espn channel 541 bt 547 and 548.. it was on there for 10 mins before virgin took it down..
Matt: Information was correct but it was previous information, right now we do not provide BT Sports.
You: but you will before saturday? and dont fob me off, cause u never let ur customers know nothing ...
Matt: I understand your concern. However, we don't have any information about BT Sports until now. Howsoever, rest assured that you get this information once we add BT Sports with our TV package.
You: are you hoping to put it on XL package?

Media Boy Views: What will launch on Virgin Channel 199?

WHO IS VIRGIN MEDIA RUMOURS TO BE IN TALKS WITH?
Bar BT the only 'Entertainment' broadcaster I know are rumours to be in talks with for is BSkyB so maybe Virgin are making room for an new Sky Basic Channel to launch.

CAN ANY OTHER 'ENTERTAINMENT' CHANNEL LAUNCH?
I cant get hold of that info. But I see that Channel 5 are set to launch an new channel soon called '5Later' so maybe that will launch on Virgin Channel 199 for all we know.

You're saying what? That you're annoyed that you switched to Sky when Virgin is going to be cheaper? :D

Seems the deal has been sealed but I have a bad feeling it'll cost extra and won't be on XL. I don't think we can be that lucky and I think BT are ruthless and money hungry greedy corporate fiends.
