Did you just see Payton on SkySportsNews? Arsenals transfer nets are set further out at sea and he's saying us Arsenal fans would be happy with Arteta and Benayoun when we've been linked to moves for M'Vila, Gotez, Vargas etc. etc. Do one Payton!!! A message needs to be sent to the board even at this late stage. Has this AST guy forgotten the promise of change then ended up seeing Fabregas and Nasri leave, just about getting into the CL, the 3 premier league results!

Not in for Arteta apparently. Withdrawn Interest in order to get Benayoun on loan. Pathetic. It's not Payton's fault - it's the boards.

There all smoke screens in my opinion, Arsenal were linked to top quality yesterday... Wengers been travelling.

Payton shouldn't be saying us Arsenal fans would be happy with Arteta its simple. Its his thoughts and a few twitter nutters that are desperate. The bar at Arsenal is high, these don't come any where near it plus Arsene said he'll only sign top quality.. top quality were mentioned yesterday.. today, well from the media hype its been disappointing.

Judging by Paytons comments on SSN... it pretty much sums up why us fans have been mugged. If thats the sort of pressure AST puts Arsenal under then there might as well not be a supporters trust.. completely useless!

Well Wilshere will hopefully make the step up. Pleased we have strengthened our defence and Arteta is decent. Certainly not the same as Nasri and Fabregas, worse, but then how can you replace Fabregas? I think we have more depth up front and at the back. We have a different sort of midfield.

Spurs didn't get Bolton, Bolton STILL wanted £15 million. They played their cards wrong there.

I hated that 25 minute goalless spell at the end of the first half...

4 goals to v. Persie, 2 for Sneijder and Huntelaar, and Heijtinga and Kuijt grab one each. Wijnaldum scores the 11th in the 90th minute after coming on as a sub in the 86th minute on his international debut. Sweet :)

They've been in the top 10 for a few years now, they undeservedly went up to 4th in the same way Holland undeservedly went to 1st, because of the cancelled friendly and countries above them losing/drawing a game.

The sports journalists hate it when Wales play England because it means they have no choice but to mention the Welsh national team on the back page headlines.

I actually had Wales down for a 2 - 1 win, All l want to see is England get a damn good hiding, sack the manager, and bring in a whole new team, with an English Manager, Capello doesn't even speak English properly, so how can he communciate with the team.

The FA need the head examined.

Well sort of, they are placed just below Hati and just above Liechtenstein in the rankings, England didn't even have to bother turning up to win.

However, a source at Thomas Cooper, the London-based solicitors who represent Malbranque, said last night: “These reports are wholly wrong.

“In the first place, Steed does not have a son. He does have two daughters, both of whom are in good health, and he has not quit at St Etienne.

“We do not know how these reports began but, as you can imagine, Steed is not at all happy about them.”

What do you think of this story?
Nedum Onuoha's mother was emailing Gary Cook and Brian Marwood in one of the emails she mentioned she was ravaged with cancer. An email was then sent from Gary Cook's account to Brian Marwood but it also cc'ed Nedum Onuoha's mother. The email said

Gary Cook now claims his email was hacked and whoever hacked it sent the email.

In my opinion he screwed up and has now made it worse by lying about it.

Bring in a new team, change the manager, bring in new players and get rid of the deadwood, that always gets picked.

We have to keep produce new players all the time, and not the crap that Capello keeps putting out, We had him criticising Carroll, why, if he is not playing how can he score goals. so far we don't have a prolific goalscorers.

what...like Spain?

I agree the performance was poor and Capello should not be in charge but bring in a new team? Hart, Smalling, Cahill, Young, Johnson, Carroll (ok only for 5 mins), all did not feature in last summer debacle so interested to know who you propose would be better (and please not that Aaron Lennon is 10x better than Wayne Rooney argument again )

Although convincing Aaron Ramsey he was English a few years ago would have been a good start

You can't buy new players, I am not sure where we can bring new ones in. Simply fact, the players England produce are not expectational. Unless you aware of some hidden talents as yet unearthed then it's a nonsense to suggest we can bring 'new' ones in.

They probably got the information from twitter and just reported it as fact, it surely couldn't have been that difficult to find out he didn't even have a son. The weird thing though is that it took at least four or five days for Malbranque to come out and deny the rumours. He also hasn't said why he has quit St. Etienne after only signing a contract with them a month ago.

Well Arsenal, Chelsea and Man city are leading at half time and my team Liverpool is losing at Stoke.

Well Aguero scores again and at the moment he seems to be the signing of the season.

And now Aguero has got his hat trick.
