Re: Toddler 'abducted' during holiday
While i too have thought that at times their behaviour is odd i am judging that on how i think i would be in their situation. What is harder to account for is the massively incorrect information they gave at the start of this this the whole "40 yards" when it was a lot further and the "we had a clear line of sight to the apartment" which as we now know was not possible. That was the start of all the speculation about them being involved and while i still am not convinced they did have any part in the girls disappearence i am agog at how they could have been so wrong about basic things.
As for the press whatever intentions the mccanns had when they initiated contact with the press i am always reminded of the story of the frog and the scorpion where the press is concerned and this is yet another example of that. I am a little puzzled that the vatican site has now removed all reference to the mccanns and would like to know why that has been done and on whose order such things will only fuel the speculation. This could all be a simple case of the police questioning them to eliminate them from enquiries but as it is portugal maybe there were questions that could only be asked after having her made a suspect doesn't mean she is in any real way and until we get something more then uncle bob says this but sky says this we won't know. |
Re: Toddler 'abducted' during holiday
I think we can speculate & play sherlock, until the cows home home.
But at the end of it. Maddie is still 'whereabouts unknown'. |
Re: Toddler 'abducted' during holiday
Confused by the reaction of the McCann camp and their supporters.
They say the police are now going down the wrong line/direction in the enquiry and this is diverting resources from the real need to find Madeline. However ‘surley’ if a car is found to have blood/DNA belonging to Madeleine 25 days after she went missing……….. isn't that a good direction to go in. What would have happened if the police released that information but then said we are not going to follow that line of enquiry.............everyone would be going mad saying the police were inefficient ! |
Re: Toddler 'abducted' during holiday

"Police are said to believe that Madeleine was killed accidentally and that her body was hidden, then moved and hidden again.
They are not treating Madeleine's disappearance as murder. There have been reports that Mrs McCann, 39, is likely to be charged with causing the accidental death of her daughter.." Just remember though 'police' in their country work to different levels of competence to the ones in our country. I wouldn't trust that shower of idiots. |
Re: Toddler 'abducted' during holiday
I for one, think that the Portugal police should get off there backside. and start looking properly for Maddie, instead of accusing the McCann's for the disappearance, if people can turn back several months when this first happened, there was an item surrounding a couple in the same situation where a girl went missing, the mother is now in prison for life for her murder, there is NO body and she strongly denies it so does her husband, and the police stopped looking after TWO weeks, and yet she is still in prison, doesn't this ring a bell with Maddie situation, l would suggest a BRITISH lawyer, with Portugese accent go over and represent the McCann.s as she is still a BRITISH subject, and deserves to be treated properly, as they cannot find anymore evidence, what about the person who was SEEN carrying a child from the apartment, what about that, in my heart, l don't believe they had anything to do with the disappearance, so here is a message to those officals, go look for the REAL suspects.

Re: Toddler 'abducted' during holiday
I wish to answer several questions that have been made to my comments, there is NO proof that there is a murder, all we know is that Maddie is missing, remember there is an organisation that relates to Courts involving mistrials in all parts of the world, in injustices, so far the Portugese have acted in a manner that is like a film of Inspector Clousoe, or whatever his name is, when a child goes missing in a foriegn country, they don't give a damn, and we have seen this in various countries, ie for child slavery, for the sickies of this world, and what annoys me, is that we have a case where all the police are going on, is a rented car that was hired 25 days later, with blood samples found in the car, if the McCanns had hired that car, it would have been a ,million to one, that would have been the car that they had, and if they had done a nasty crime, why did they stay in the country, when they could have fled home, until there is a body found, then l will still believe she is alive, and the strangest thing is, that who ever does have the poor child, maybe she could be found, so that the portugese police will have eggs on there faces for the farce that is being produced at the moment.

Re: Toddler 'abducted' during holiday
As someone said to me tonight this has all kicked off since the mccanns talked about returning to the UK so maybe this has speeded up the portugese police rather then them having nothing whatsoever to go on. Same old same old we know nothing till someone that does know for sure tells us but this is not looking good right now.

Having said that, the blood samples found in the car that was rented 25 days after Madeleine's disappearance does appear to be a bit strange. Are the police suggesting that Kate McCann killed Madeleine, hid her body for 25 days, then used a hired car to dispose of it elsewhere? Sounds a bit bizarre. |

I have a problem with both of those views, no one can say anything till the evidence and proof is shown, speculation is just that - pointless (but good converstation / discussion). From the way things are going, there must be a high number of people wanting the parents to be charged and found guilty, not out of anything nasty, maybe just a dislike to them perhaps, maybe to teach people a lesson that you can't jump to these conclusions (in theory a told you so I suppose). And I must add yes there is still a missing girl, I can't dwell on that too much as what good will that do, but it doesn't mean I'm not saddened by it all. |

Re: Toddler 'abducted' during holiday
The reports of the Kate McCann being offered 'A deal' would appear to be wide of the mark, as has been reported by the portugese and also UK media each criminal offence has a set sentence that not even a Portugese judge can change.
So, thus far The McCann's are alledging that the Portugese police have planted evidence. The Portugese involvment in the forensic side of the investigation (especially in the recovery process) has been very little. With the vast amount of the recovery and analytical work has been performed under the guidance of British forensic teams and analaysis performed by the FSS in Birmingham (facts which are now well documented) The one question I have is this. If the hire care was infact hired twenty five days after the dissaperance of the child then where did the Portugese police get the blood from to 'plant' in the car ? |
Re: Toddler 'abducted' during holiday
Quote:
At the moment, however, the one question I have (and one which the Police will have to prove at some point, if they persist in this line of enquiry) is this: How did the McCanns smuggle the decomposing body of their daughter past the police, the world media and a horde of rubbernecking tourists, to get it into that car and off somewhere out of the glare of publicity long enough to arrange disposal? If the Police's suggestion is based on this one piece of evidence, then they are right out on a limb here and, I submit, are not paying due regard to the contents of a certain Mr Occam's shaving cabinet. |

Re: Toddler 'abducted' during holiday
Your spot on Pia i have seen a couple of other forums where emotions seem to be running massively higher then in this thread and if the mod's on here saw them they would definately not be thinking of closing this thread. One question that the police are SUPPOSED to have asked did seem very good to me and that was why they hired a car a day before they were jetting off to see the pope does seem strange they managed all that time without one and then a day before going away they hire one.
I think to be honest while we can debate the mc'canns innocence or guilt they have done some things that are a bit weird and off during this whole thing that is now coming back to haunt them. Their early statements on the events of the night in question have certainly fuelled the group that feel they are involved in someway and those early statements never sat right with me either. I am curious as to how this went from an abduction case to an accidental death case as the portugese police seem to be so certain it is. Putting a new idea in maybe they had nothing directly to do with her death by virtue of not being in the apartment when she had an accident and therefore feel they are not guilty of her death. This whole matter is so confused and contradictory that it fuels whatever viewpoint you want to take and that is what is making this a point of interest for so many people. |

Re: Toddler 'abducted' during holiday
As i understand the system and i may be wrong now the portugese have made them ofiicial suspects extradition would be more of a formailty if they needed to get them back therefore letting them leave poses no problems. It is hard for us in the UK to understand their system but i am sure they have their reasons for doing what they are doing and just because we don't understand it doesn't mean it is mickey mouse or inferior to ours or works any less well.

Re: Toddler 'abducted' during holiday
Bah, I dunno about you lot but I'm bored of this whole affair now. Maybe I've become desensitized to what has happened/is happening because of the saturation coverage.
Now that Team McCann are heading back to Blighty I'm sure their story will be sold to the highest bidding tabloid, and OK magazine will buy the rights to photograph the inside of the girl's bedroom in their UK home for a six-figure amount. I think I'll just wait for the inevitable made-for-TV film to be broadcast so that I can find out what is supposed to have happened. |

A statement from the McCann's has just been read out by their family spokesperson. They said "They played no part in the disappearance of their beloved daughter".
Whether it was an accidental death by Kate McCann, or an abduction by a stranger, I'm sure many people would disagree with that statement! . |
Re: Toddler 'abducted' during holiday
Gerry's just repeated that bile on landing, before being whisked away like royalty with police escort. No sign of Social Services or any handcuffs, when at the very least they are guilty of child neglect, for all anyone knows Kate could have Munchausen's syndrome or something.
|
Re: Toddler 'abducted' during holiday
Yes tbh that statement is a load of bs. Although i think it was indirect they DID play a part in the abduction by not being there to stop it happening and i think as i have said before they have official questions to answer in this country but then it is sunday so maybe tomorrow. Anyway we better be quiet and not discuss neglect as that has been done to death and the thread may be closed if that discussion opens up again. Hearing of the exclusive deals with papers to be honest sickens me no matter what amount of money they get or what it is used for they shouldn't get a penny.

Well to be honest i doubt many of her patients will be going to her for advice on childcare and thats not a dig simple fact. Not sure why i wouldn't want to have either of them treat me for illnesses they are qualified doctors far as i have heard nothing has called their professional conduct into question when they are practicing medicine. There should be NO ONE cut any slack until the child is either found alive and well or a cadaver recovered. That is the most important part no one is trying to vilify anyone. By the way of the McCanns statements saying they that she (Kate) is subject to Portugese police trying to frame her she is also implying that the British forces (specifically Leicestershire) are also actively involved in any attempt to frame, the evidence is first of all passed to FSS for examination and then passed to the liasing force for consideration and only then passed to the Portugese police. Your question of how the body would be moved holds much providence. But if the blood in the hire car is the childs then it renders your question pretty much mute. BBC24 raised an interesting question this morning which was that if that hire car was so important to the investigation why were the McCanns still allowed to use it |

Slow learner or late entry into the medical field either way she is qualified. As for the rumours that they sedated the children i am sure we would have heard something positive on that surely even 25 days later there would have been some trace of sedative in the blood sample. While people will feel free to have a go at them as parents\people having a go at them professionally is a bit much at the minute.
