GRRM had some serious issues with the last two books, which contributed to the lengthy wait for each one. Hopefully it won't be so bad for the remaining two...

What I find annoying is that the King book doesn't have the title and covered changed for the international audience. I'm sure if the book was a UK book they would change the title and cover for the US, they did that with Harry Potter in the past

only read one so far. I like Clive Cussler books as you canpick them up read them and switch off for a few hours. Think the NUMA files ones are just a way to get back to a younger Dirk Pitt as he made him get older as the books went on.

Dilli is it just the battery not holding charge? Replacement is reasonably straightforward if you can get someone with a reasonable degree of dexterity to sort it for you.

Well I only get three days out of it with the wifi / 3g off.

That's about two hours with it reading out loud each day but it should / did last much longer than that.

So yup I may get another battery once I've checked the purchase date to see exactly when I got it.

40-50 minute bus journey to/from work every day, tend to read approx an hour most evenings, more at week-ends, and the ability to speed read (a 300 page book takes about 3-4 hours).

It helps that I don't watch a lot of TV.....

I loved both Mariani books.

I read "The Fixer" afterwards by Jon F Merz, book 1 in the "Lawson Vampire" series. It was... OK. I won't be bothering with any of the other books in the series, though.

I've just finished "Red, White and Blood" by Christopher Farnsworth. It's the third "Nathaniel Cade" book (after "Blood Oath" and "The President's Vampire"), and like the previous two was an excellent read.
