Thumbs down Netguard

What is the point of pushing out a product that will not register because you have not loaded all your IP addresses into Netguard's server??? This is shoddy implementation and has left me with a completly insecure PC NOW having de-installed Norton first as instructed.. This is a great idea, I was personally VERY pleased to see such an approach but the impilimentation is so shoddy!

Symptoms:
Following restart the Netguard will not activate.
Called support
Support after a 20 minute called advised my IP address is not in the Netguard server.

Actions I must take.
Re-install Norton and purchase an extension

Further to the above
In the adverts and on the web pages it never advises that this process doesn't work if you have a home router. I and many people do. This you only find out after calling the help line and wasting an extended period of time!

Bottom line
NTL reputation for good ideas is there, this is another. However NTL's reputation for poor implementation and service is completly the opposite and this sort of poor implementations just doesn't help. Come on I've been with you for years as a leader now get it together and don't rush to market something that's not fully ready! We need service now not to hold your support engineers up for 20 - 30 minutes trying to sort out a problem they can't..

Yours very unimpressed!

Re: Netguard

Netguard will work with a router in place no problem.

As with Bill C I am also using a home network with netguard no problem.

Netguard does varify that you have a valid NTL supplied ip address, but it gets this from the dhcp server.

What error message is netguard throwing up?

Re: Netguard

Very interesting and great that it works.. This is what I was told when talking to Broadband support. However my problems started with the router and then contintued even when I bypassed the router. I was advised that the error message meant that Netguard's server didn't know my NTL IP address, ie it hadn't been loaded.

Error message stated that Netguard could not be activated because even though I have an Internet connection it was not an NTL Internet connection.. Well it certainly is.. I suspect now that once this problem is fixed using a router will work, but someone needs to advise the support staff..
