He was asked how he felt when he unexpectedly heard his music eg coming on the radio or in a shop. His answer tickled me when he said "Sometimes it's good and it makes me feel part of it, but the experience varies. I had to ring Virgin and they put me on hold for an hour and a half. When the hold music started it was me and I thought for God's sake and I hated myself" :D

My O2 sim plan with the Volt benefits including broadband speed increase has just gone from £21.79 to £24.29, whereas I could get a similar plan from GiffGaff for between £10 and £15 depending on data. O2 has offers to go down to between £10.50 and £16, but that's just for 6 months and then goes right back up again.
My VirginMedia bill for Gig1, Mega TV including Netflix with ads, anytime chatter is £83.50.
If I try to save £9-£14 by stopping O2 and switching to GiffGaff, I'll presumably drop the Volt benefit and go down to M500. Is there any way to work out how much my VM bill would increase to get back the Gig1 broadband?

All the hype made by VM that Sky Atlantic was coming at last - and what do we get? Nothing like Sky Atlantic used to be.

Very disappointing. Btw, likewise, Sky One.

We know the reason - loss of HBO content - but why did VM bother and then smother it in all the hype?

Hi all, you can't post on the VM forum nowadays but is there any official support where you get through to someone in the UK?

Contacting someone in the UK is becoming impossible.

I'm in the latter stages of a renovation. Last year I had a site survey - someone came over, looked at the property and said that they'll need to dig down into the driveway to run cables up to the house.

The house already has VM from the previous owner but he said that the whole street will be upgraded this year so it's best to sort this now before the renovation is complete.

We don't want to have the new driveway laid then VM come and dig it back up.

I spoke to VM's Moving Home department a couple of times today. The first person didn't understand what a builder was.

The second time the person seemed to understand my situation but said that the driveway won't need to be dug down (even though the engineer said it would) because it already has VM assigned to the property.

Even after explaining the person in India, not the engineer who visited the property is deciding what I need.

I've booked in my VM moving day but need to speak to someone who can actually grasp what I'm talking about, and have been told by the VM engineer.

I tried to get some help/sense from a number I have for retentions (in Scotland) but he obviously couldn't help me.

Is it really that difficult to speak to someone in the UK?

Any ideas?

I’ve always liked their non-recordable Freesat boxes and regularly use their SX model in one room. Simple, intuitive interface. I’m hoping for similar with this new one, though I’m unfamiliar with their current UI designs. I’d imagine it’s probably going to work like their current Freeview PVR, just with a different type of tuner.

Hi Guys,

Long term Virgin Media broadband customer but switched my TV to Sky around 10 years ago. Coming to end of my Sky contract and offers for renewal are poor so considering returning to Virgin TV.

Spoke to VM and they told me they no longer offer TV360 boxes so I would be sent a Stream box (I’d be switching from Sky Q).

Obviously I’d lose the functionality to record locally but generally no issues with streaming as much of what I watch these days is via streaming / VOD.

I just wanted to ask if anyone who has a Stream box would be kind enough to share their views on the pros and cons of the Stream box and also ask whether it is stable via WiFi?

Thanks in advance :)

2) I don't want it. Every car owner I've known seems to get endless hassle I don't need.

3) I did try, once, to drive a 3.5 tonner as part of my job, as what's known as a shunter. But I couldn't get the hang of the clutch (nor could I when I tried doing my CBT), and I nearly crashed. The company never offered training again. I got the hint: some people are natural drivers, but not me.

Every time I get one my (new) phone flags it as spam, and I report & block it. What I want to know is: why am I getting these? Why send them to someone who isn't a registered car owner? I'm halfway inclined towards chasing it up, then at the critical point saying, "Oh, BTW, I don't have a car and can't drive anyway". :p:

Thought I’d start a thread on this seeing as updated rules and expectations have been published now and claims are likely to start in earnest. I had no idea quite how far back this went (and up to how recently for that matter). We had a car on finance in 2008 and after hearing Martin Lewis on PM on Radio 4 last night I went to the Money Saving Expert website to use the free complaint tool they have there.

To be honest, the adverts from claims intermediaries had been putting me off even thinking about whether we might have a claim because it creates the assumption that the process is difficult. But MSE’s tool simply drafted me an email for me to copy and paste and send to the customer service email address of the dealer that sold me the car. That’s all you have to do - contact the dealer directly with as much information as you can remember. I had to trawl through old photos until I found one with the car reg on it as I don’t have any paperwork any more (and the car is long gone).

If you bought a car on finance between 2007 and 2024 you should look into this, and read the details at https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/re...m-car-finance/ where you can also find the free complaint-drafting tool.

I’m going to update here when I hear from the dealer for good or ill. Would be good to hear from other members who are affected. This goes back almost 20 years so chances are I’m not the only one!
