I'm just about to set up a raid array and was just making sure my HDDs were ok by doing a trial install of xp. However, when xp formats/partitions the drive (it only gives me the option to format in ntfs not fat32 and I was onlywanting to use one partition) it creates an 8meg partition which I can't seem to access. Can I do anything about this? or is xp wanting this for itself.
It maybe incase you want to upgrade to a dynamic disk.

The 8MB is what it needs for creating the partition. You get this on NTFS or FAT 32. Dont know why you don't have a choice though because I've used home and pro editions

Thanks Defiant, I assume that mean it will only take one lot of 8meg from all of the disks on the array?
The 8 meg is a one time hit on the disk space for XP to keep the partition information.
