Anyone know what this app does?

Zone alarm says it wants to access the internet, to IP 0.0.0.0 but I've no idea what initialising it.

Zone alarm help centre does not recognise the app.

It ain't no virus, its a version of Java that doesn't require an associated console window.

See Suns page on java.exe and javaw.exe here. (http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/tooldocs/windows/java.html#description)

edit: Damn, Nemesis got there first !

Well I knew it was Java, but not what it did and a Viri can be written in Java.

Welcome jerseydevil :)

As Scarlett's link explains - it's part of the Sun Java SDK and is the same as the java tool accept it doesn't open a DOS box. It's not exactly an application in itself, but it runs an application written in Java. You could always add 0.0.0.0 to the trusted zone, which would be the safest, rather than allowing javaw access to the Internet.
