Congratulations poj!

Just out of interest.... what work did you do before you retired? and was it I.T related?
The question stems from my general/work related interest in what sort of people use the internet on a daily basis and why.

Feel free to pm me if you don't want to post your reply :)

Nah only just about to start my second halfcentury in a week or so.

I'm just a "Kid" compared to some it would seem. :D

Interesting to see so many from our little neck of the woods though even if i'm in the "Posh" bit. :p

So Hi to all my fellow Hertfordshire "Hedgehogs". :wavey:

We'll end this particular subject with my saying that drudge is dk's father.

No more on the matter please.

I thought Drudge was disealking :confused:They had the same IP, but from reading their posts, my guess is that they live at the same address or workplace.

Edit. That was my best guess. Please delete this post if you feel it is necessary Russ, I did not see your post at the time.

my sincere apologies to powerpow for changing her gender like that.. that'll teach me to assume things and leave out important steps in research.. doh!!

so, pooroldjoe 78.. i think that is a pretty good testament to the diversity we enjoy in these forums..

(is it just me or has today gone a bit lovey, and fluffy for some reason.. i feel unusually upbeat for a cynical grey-haired old codger)

I was originally in Telecommunications, changing career at 40 initially as a Customer Service engineer for a large mainframe manufacturer and eventially becoming a Product Consultant, mainly on printers and VDU's.
Ironicaly I only got my first PC about two years ago, until then my very trusty PCW8256 and Locoscript together with CP/M did everything I needed.
It was only due to failing health that stopped me fllowing my normal hobbies of bricklaying, plumbing and carpentry et al that caused me to look for something else to help keep my brain active. But I don't like this danged new-fangled technology. whats wrong with CP/m and GCOS?

Typos? At least you have the not being familiar with the edit button as an excuse ;) :p
