yes i aim not to be single again by the end of the year... far fetched i know..

that was mine for a while...... but this year i realised being single isn't all that bad, and it gives me time to sort my head out and spend time with my mates :D

my n.y.resolutions are:
cut down and then quit the cigs
spend lots more time with friends
have some "me" time
go on a lovely holiday
and most of all have some fun :p
and lose weight

I stopped making them quite a few years ago..... most of the time people seem to set incredibly high standards for themselves.... and then are bitterly disappointed when they fail to achieve them.... get more upset and bitter about themselves and their inability to do anything right.... and down the spiral we go

On the positive side.... if the aims are realistic and plausable.... then it can be an incredible boost to one's self esteem when they're attained :)

Just remember not to aim to high unless you have a parachute.... or have wings ;)

Well.... there are a few angels out there ;)

I....... being demon spawn..... am not trying to fly :D

Good luck to all and if you fail, try again, the year doesn't really end on the 31st Dec.... it continues.

..... and just in case..... local counselling services are not as bad as some people say ;)

I'd like to give up smoking, but not as a resolution, just don't think i would do it.

Thought about the whole g.friend thing. been single for 6 months after a 2 yr relationship, but still wondering if i can be arsed.

Keep up with uni work, and make my flatmate clean more often (smelly little bleeder)

See more gigs.

Sounds a bit selfish, but care more about me than other people

I bet everyone has been telling you there own little titbits about sleep so here we go.
I had big problems with sleep, became like a vampire, sleep all day, up all night. Went to Doctor advise as follows:
Drink less cafine
Smoke less before bed
No reading in bed (didn't keep up with that one  )
Have a shower before bed
force yourself up even when you don't have to get up

Well there we go, worked for me, feel great now.

Apparently.... sitting in front of a PC up to an hour before trying to go to sleep is a bad idea too.... stimulates the brain :erm:

Doesn't affect me though..... Mmmmm... wonder if there's a connection ;)

2. Laugh every day even if I'm sad and help others to do likewise.

3. Remember the next 50 years can be even better than the first.

My new years resolution is to learn to procrastinate more efficiently.

No probs Bifta just sing along to this it always helps me:

Busy Doing Nothing

We're busy doing nothing
Working the whole day through
Trying to find lots of things not to do.
We're busy going nowhere,
Isn't it just a crime?
We'd like to be unhappy but...
We never do have the time.

I have to watch the river,
To see that it doesn't stop.
Then stick around the rosebuds,
So they'll know when to pop.
Better keep the crickets cheerful,
They're really a solemn bunch.
Hustle, bustle, and only an hour for lunch.

(Repeat opening verse)

I have to wake the sun up,
He's liable to sleep all day.
And then inspect the rainbows,
So they'll be bright and gay.
You must rehearse the songbirds,
To see that they sing in key.
Hustle, bustle, and never a moment free.

(Repeat verse)

I have to meet a turtle,
I'm teaching him how to swim.
Then I have to shine the dewdrops,
You know they're looking rather dim.
I told my friend the robin
I'd buy him a brand new vest.
Hustle, bustle, we never do have,
we never do have, we never do, never do, never do, never do,
Never do have the time,
Never do have the time.
(Please note that the opening verse,
and each repetition of it,
is preceded by a long string of la, la, las.)

Smokers Told 'Give Up Or Clog Up'
As thousands vow to stop smoking in 2004, new figures show that one in five people in Britain will die from the effects of lighting up.Now shock tactics are being used to help ex-smokers stick to their New Year resolutions - in the form of a graphic television campaign. The British Heart Foundation is targeting long term smokers, telling them to give up before they clog up.

The organisation says just three cigarettes a day can double a person's risk of a heart attack - one smoker dies every five minutes.

But it has been the cancer risk that has received the most publicity recently, so the BHF is adding its weight to campaigns to stop people smoking.

And a new exercise programme designed specifically for smokers has been launched in a bid to help them kick the habit for good.

Charity QUIT has joined forces with doctors and fitness instructor Jamie Baird, whose celebrity clients include Donna Air and Kate Beckinsale, to produce the tailor-made plan.

Before its too late.
