Don't know if anyone will find this useful but I went to Halfords yesterday to get oil for my car and I noticed they have an offer on their own-brand fully synthetic 5w/40w oil - the 5 litre bottle is down to £16 from £31 - bargain when you consider the 1 litre bottle is just under a tenner :tu:

£31 for 5 litres of oil is blatant exploitation Russ!
If you have a Partco near you, go and ask them for 5 litres of fully synthetic oil and tell them you want trade price and i`ll bet you get it for about £12 or close.
Halfords are charging Main dealer prices for their oil and it`s only probably some generic sh*t.!! At least we use Shell Helix.:)

Maybe that's why they dropped the price?

Yeah, I think you may be right... or maybe they had artificailly bumped the price up beforehand, so that now they can offer it at "½ price", or what was actually the previous "normal" price ;)

...or maybe I'm just getting cynical in my old age.

Most members on this forum actually appreciate getting a heads-up when there's a good deal to be had somewhere. :dozey:

I agree with you there, nothing to do with old age... I just expect that kind of thing to happen.

That's below the belt mate! Cheap and stinks. I hope I got it wrong (I did see the smilies)

Nothing wrong with trying to get a bargain...

...which they normally advertise - this offer doesn't seem to be publicised so most people might have missed it.

Anyway, as it was a joke - oh ha ha ha ha ha ha.

No offence taken. Just work on that delivery and you'll have it nailed in no time.

I have recently bought some oil for my car and it cost me £9.95 for 5 liters and that is for good stuff. Maybe it is dearer in Wales
