View Full Version : Merged-Ftp access
I seem to be having a problem trying to access my web space. I have tried so many variations and it all comes back to with same answer (no you can't)
I have uploaded web sites to different servers before with no problems.
Customer homepage URL format: homepage.ntlworld.com/user.name
What should I put in here?
FTP Server upload.ntlworld.com
This does not seem to work?
User Name your username
I know this one
Password your password
I know this one
Any help would be welcome

use the password you were given by ntl when you first signed up - not the one you changed it to....

it is sometimes the case, I have heard,
that when you change your given password
the webpage password does not update for some reason
give tech support a ring and ask if the two paswords match
happened with me once
tho I never actually got round to uploading anything

Hi
When uploading, correct format to type into Internet Explorer window is:-
ftp://user.name:password@upload.ntlworld.com
As homealone says, use your original password.
Then to view your webspace later type in:-
http://homepage.ntlworld.com/user.name
Ron
Thanks for your help about the password, but I can't remember changing it.
I will give them a call to verify it.
Another thing someone maybe able to answer is.
I have never used my email account online and it was only a few days ago that I decided to have a look at what NTL had to offer (ie websapace) and for some unknown reason (well to me) I had 1320 yes 1320 emails over a four month period. How did they get my email address without ever using it.
Any way I decided to forward my mail to another email address and for some reason it has stopped
Thanks for your help regarding the last post I made regarding
"ftp access denied".
I eventually got through to NTL and recovered my origional password, the only difference to the format laid out was, I had to type in my username in capitals. Could be handy if any one else has problems.
If any ones interested here's what the site looks like.
