View Full Version : Hair clipper question
I have a pair of remington hair clippers that I use from time to time. A month ago i clippered my 6yo's hair . I have tried to use them tonight but they won't cut very well at all. They just pull at my hair and don't really do much. I have taken apart the cutting bits, cleaned and oiled them and put them back together but they still aren't cutting. Anyone got any suggestions?
I look like I have the mange atm :dozey: :D

Sounds like they need sharpening

no there should be a little screw. turn this till it makes a noise this is the blades hitting each other then turn it till the noise just stops this will sort it out . Then oil the blade with some light oil sorted.Ive cut my hair with clippers for years the latest set ive had about 3 years and never had them sharpened :)
If you have the new ceramic ones they don't need sharpening
I use mine about once a month for about 18 months now. I still have my old ones but they are getting a bit tired and dont cut as well

Nope.....no adjustable screw anywhere.....b*gger.....looks like I am stuck with the 'mange' look till tomorrow when I will have to leg it down to Boots and get another set of clippers (wearing a hat) :disturbd:
Looks like I have 'done a Rammy' again :D

Perhaps a passing mod could delete this thread as it's now surplus to requirements :)

Nah, sorry this thread stays. We all like a good laugh and the thought of someone with mangy hair cheered up my day :D

Glad you got sorted out mate, I have the same problem from time to time, it's more often than not trying to go from longish hair to short, going down in stages works, well for me, also, makesure the blades teeth line up at the tips, that has caused me no end of trouble.
PS, currently sporting an open blade, well, 'tis summer :D
