Up till right at this very moment, it would be a dead heat between Pirates of the Caribean and Spirited Away.

Both very different films, which is why i cant choose between them.

define 'Best film of the year' none of those above would count as a great film in terms of plot, script and acting

Although I'm sure 'Return of the King' will be the best this year, it's speculation atm - other than that, the film which I enjoyed watching the most was 'X-Men II'.:)

The question is which is your favourite film ie the one you enjoyed the most not which one has the best acting/direction/SFX/biggest box office etc.

Edit: Pirates of the Caribbean btw.

I can't believe I'm saying this but my favourite film of this year is the one I've just come back from the cinema to watch, Love Actually.

I've never been a fan of girlie-type films but I'd recommend it to anyone. Everyone will recognise themselves in at least one of the characters. Top, top film :D

Enjoyed the 3 rd Matrix film,Pirates of the Carribean,Once Upon a Time in Mexico.

Not too keen on the second Matrix film.Loathed Terminator 3 which was total cr@p.

Best films I've seen in the last five years for plot, character and interest were Gladiator and Gattaca(spelling?).

Totally thrilled by LOTR 1&2 and looking forward to part 3.They are most definitely better than the books which are very, very stodgy reads.

Incog.

Who's all time fave film is The Shawshank Redemption, though Blade Runner comes a very close second.

I love The Shawshank Redemption & agree it is the best films ever followed very closely by The Green Mile

But am I the only person who doesn't really like LOTR films??
