As posted in the Phone Dead thread i have no phone line for almost 2 weeks.
My Sister is on BT and said when she had no line, BT automatically diverted her calls to her mobile free of charge! plus credited her £1 a day for loss of service.

I rang NTL Friday evening to enquire if this was available to me and was told it was, at a cost of £1.75 a month. I asked to speak to a manager or supervisor and was told there wasn't one there but they could call me back within 24 hours.....i'm still waiting, it wouldn't suprise me of they were trying to ring the landline number

I suppose i should be grateful the TV and BB service that disappeared Thursday evening have now returned.

Hmmm BT normally only offer this if it's their fault the line is down. They have an ethos of "keep the customer connected at all costs" as they know people will leave otherwise.
Is this a NTL fault that is causing the loss of phone line?

It's a damaged cable in the main box that's caused it.

I would suggest to them that diverting the calls for the length of time it takes for them to fix their fault will cost them less than the loss of a contract when your sister cancels ;)
