coma-dope?

i watched steven seagals "hard to kill" on c5 the other night and the plot was he got shot , ended up in a coma for 7 years and some bent cops planted charlie in his house to make out he was a smackhead.
my question is.......
if he really was smacked out on charlie then went in a coma for 7 years , when he woke up still thinking he had just been shot would he still be craving ?

He'd have a psychological craving for it, but not the physical addiction.
It's like with nicotine, after 2 days without it your body no longer craves it, the remaining urges are all in your mind.
