I'll tell you a bad deal - already be on 600k and not have talk unlimited because NTL don't tell you about the offer and then when they do, they say crap like you've got to be a new customer:grind:

I'll just bend over now shall I:upyours:

so I have to downgrade to 150k ? Screw that for a game of soldiers - they should give it us because we are loyal customers not have us over a barrel:grind:

Depending on your area you should be able to do this.

You would be locked into keeping the 600k (at least) for twelve months though

Right as far as I know (This is for the Celtic region only) the packages are available for new customers and customers who are not on an existing offer.

When taking out the offer you are tied into the package for 12 months and can only upgrade (ie. 600K to 1Meg) for the duration.

As with all things if you are wanting more info you should give customer services a call.

Hi dezzo...thanks for that...

The talk unlimited service offered is the off peak local and national package after watching channel ntl.

I think ntl: should not really do these type of offers unless every customer qualifies for them as a lot of their loyal customers already on higher tier broadband services will lose out! :(

Right, it's RARE that I defend ntl: but.....
IMHO, it's fair for ntl to make deals for new customers and exclude existing ones.
The idea behind the scheme is to get more customers.

If I buy a car and it comes with a "Ford" stereo, fine. If the same car comes with a flash "Pioneer" stereo 2 weeks later, that's just my tuff luck. I can't see the car showroom trading my Ford stereo for the Pioneer, can you?

I bought a JVC Digital Camcorder about 6mts ago, the same model is now £50 cheaper and comes with a spare battery and 2 tapes..... I'm not even considering contacting JVC for my £50, battery and tapes. Would you?

But surely they make just as much money if we (existing customers) upgrade a level or two, except we don't need a visit from an engineer!!

i agree being a long term customer of NTL when it was cabletel in my area i think they should offer incentives to customers who have been with them and have spent thousands with a deal somewhere along the line to encourage takeup of other services = more money in the end for them :)

Believe it or not it is possible for a new customer to get all of this free for the 1st month with a free install, depending on which franchise you are in.

So your being offered either £50.99 or £51.99 depending on when the talk unlimited was put on. That is just the standard you are being offered, they appear to be offering no discounts. I'm not sure of the offers for your area but they are focusing on bb & talk plans just now so you may be able to get them free for at least a month as an introductary offer if you don't have them already.
