I just upgraded from 2MB to 10MB over the phone.

The 1st guy said it takes 3-5 days
The 2nd Girl says it takes 24hrs
The 3rd guy says it takes 1 week

I always thought it was instant? When I upgraded online by accident it was instant. All it does it assign a high tier docsis file to my modem right?

I have a feeling they are muggin me off. My modem did reboot itself twice, but still on 2MB.

Cheers

Hong

normally it should be instantly, at least with me it was.

check your modem config and also your bill.

if you have a normal modem the page is http://192.168.100.1 user and password are root

this is what you should see on a NTL:250 (blue modem)

Network Access : Allowed Maximum Downstream Data Rate : 10240000 Maximum Upstream Data Rate : 512000

Were you offered the 10mb for the same price as your current 2mb for the first month,if so it can take 3-5 days.

Rone, sometimes you have to reboot your modem first, and do it as soon as it boots back up :)

Hongman, if your being charged for the 10 then I would raise hell otherwise try it through the https://autoreg.autoregister.net and key in your user details. with me this method never fails and done from 2 meg to 10 now 3 times as couldnt make up me mind about what I want

If you upgrade online it will happen immeadiately,if you have been offered any kind of special offer with the upgrade,ie:free first month etc then this can take longer to process because of the billing and credit set up required.

Well if it takes longer due to it being an offer, then I guess I dont mind waiting, after all I am getting a month free.

If I were paying for it I would hav just done it online anyway, its quicker and less stressfull!
