Hi

I have a question regarding MTU. My Netgear router allows me to specify this parameter, as I suspect many routers do. The default is 1500 bytes.

Is there an optimum setting for this? I know when I used ADSL BT released their optimal size for optimal packet fragmentation.

Will changing this (on the WAN port) even make a difference to data going out beyond the cable modem?

Ta.

1500 is the correct figure.

I've changed mine 1492 and since doing that my connection seems to be slighty faster

Is that a random figure, or was that suggested to you by somebody?
