Broadband Speed

Can any one help my bb speed has been up and down for quite a while called cs and told no faults my speed goes as low as 0.5mb and as high as 3.0mb running a stb with a linksys router which i was on the 3.0mb srevice have been upgraded to 10.0mb i know that the stb can only handle 5.0mb if you are lucky but my mates adsl 2.0mb sevice makes mine look like a 56k dial up

Anyway.. Linksys router. Is that wireless or wired? 512k is a bit on the slow side, yes! :(
