I upgraded from 2Mb to 10Mb about an hour ago over the phone. The lady I spoke with told me it could be instant or up to 24 hours.

I was expecting the http://192.168.100.1/ page to show my new settings pretty quickly though. It still shows 2Mb settings, and going to upgrade on the ntlworld site shows me on 2Mb with an offer to upgrade to 10Mb.

I realise I'm just being impatient but I was wondering if everything would change together or if there would be an initial indication of the upgrade.

Thanks.

[Edit] It looks like I should have read some of these threads before upgrading!! There seems to be a lot of problems with 10Mb. I was very happy with my 2Mb connection, no problems at all. Given all the horror stories about NTL I considered myself very lucky.

I would ring back and ask them to double check. Dependant on the area you live in, there could be two accounts for your modem. The billing account is changed to the new charge and then the actual modem speed should be changed as well. It may be that the modem wan't upgraded as it should have been.

Occasionally it does take a while for the speed to change so it may still be in the "pending" stage but not usually over an hour......

Many thanks for the reply. I called back and was told that my billing account had been updated but not my operational account. 5 minutes later 10Mb is working!!

I seem to be getting near full speed :D
