I'm on NTl but i see telewest are starting the speed upgrade over the board.

Following the company wide announcement in early August, we are delighted to confirm that the roll out of our free speed increase upgrade has commenced

You've been posting on here for months.

You obviously haven't noticed that Telewest are still yet to upgrade Birmingham, Yorkshire and other areas.

Research before you post, it's a Godsend, Telewest didn't and still haven't provided this upgrade across the board.

While you are at it I'm sure ntl's STB customers would be delighted with this:

Yup their STBs were on 512k/128k and 1Mbit/128k and are now on 1Mbit/256k. Don't get overly excited.
