Up until yesterday i had NTL-10MBIT through a Samsung STB. I wasnt getting much more than 3mbit i was led to believe that a cable modem would cure this problem.

So after some messing around im finally connected through the cable modem. Its a NTL:250 blue thingy.

Giganews : Dont get much more than 3.1Mbit
Adslguide : 604.0 KB Downstream, 57.1 KB Upstream (just did it again and got 400, 57.)

I've tried multiple download sources and i never get more than a combined 4-5mbit.

Downstream Receive Power Level : -6.5 dBmV
Downstream SNR : 32.7 dB
Upstream transmit Power Level : 49.0 dBmV

NTL are useless and i just go through the motions of "restart in safemode".... as if im some kinda retard.

Any ideas? or what i can get them to do?

I've had two engineers around in the past two days just to get the cable modem online. I really dont think theres much they can do on my end?
