If your speed is slow and you are not getting the bandwidth you are paying for you must seriously complain about it.
Some of us are getting a poor service, especially since the upgrade to 10 MB and Telewest is not interested in handling complaints, in spite of their pledge.
I personally have written to them twice and they failed to ackwoledge my letter let alone handle my complaint.

If you checked your machine and you are virus and spyware free and your settings are correct than you are most likely another Telewest victim.

I suggest you follow these simple 7 steps if you cannot resolve the issue locally. Most of the complaints can be sent online so it won't cost you a penny and it can be done immediately.

1) Considering writing to each and every member of the Telewest board of directors to share your concerns about the poor service they are offering. Do not be afraid to tell them what you think. We know their servers are overloaded or the infrastructures are poor and they ned to know that we are aware of it.
Write one letter and CC it to each and every one of them. I believe their HO is on Sheffiled (check your bill).

Here is the list of their board of Directors:
Board of Directors
Anthony (Cob) Stenham Class III director and chairman of the board
Barry R. Elson Class I director and acting chief executive officer
William Connors Class III director
John H. Duerden Class III director
Marnie S. Gordon Class II director
Michael Grabiner Class II director
Michael McGuiness Class I director
Steven R. Skinner Class II director

Executive Officers
Anthony (Cob) Stenham Director and chairman of the board
Barry R. Elson Director and acting chief executive officer
Eric J. Tveter President and chief operating officer
Stephen Cook Vice president, group strategy director and general counsel
Neil Smith Vice president and chief financial officer

Divisional Management
Lisa Opie Managing director, content division
Howard Watson Managing director, networks, technology & IT
Stephen Beynon Managing director of business

2) Log your complaint at www.howtocomplain.com. (http://www.howtocomplain.com./) They will forward it to the MD and keep a record on their website. Just do a search for Telewest and select the Internet provider address and not the digital TV address.

3) Forward copy of your complaint to www.which.net (http://www.which.net/) (Consumer Association). Explain that you believe there is a serious breach of the Sale of Goods Act. If many people do that Which will launch their own investigation.

4) Complain online to Ofcom at www.ofcom.org.uk (http://www.ofcom.org.uk/)
They will not handle your complaint but monitor how many complaints an ISP gets and then intervene. The more complaints they get the better as they are likely to start an investigation.

5) Blueyonder is registered with both CISAS and ISPA. They are indipendent bodies and will handle your complaint directly.
Please check:
www.ispa.org.uk (http://www.ispa.org.uk/)
www.cisas.org.uk (http://www.cisas.org.uk/)

6) Report the issue to Trading Standards (check your local authority website) as they are likely to investigate a breach of the Sale of Goods Act.

7) Share these steps with other users. Remember a single user may not be powerful enough to make any changes but several users will have the power to change things.

I believe since the upgrade to 10 MB and the price reduction there are serious issues with their infrastructure, contention ration, servers, etc.
They may be doing very little about it, especially if NTL is now in charge. Usually, after a merge there is always a period of stasi where nothing is done about the Company and decisions have to be taken to establish what direction the group is going to take.

Remember, do not accept the poor service you are getting. Just complain about it and make people aware.
Telewest use to put customers first and have forgotten that without them they are nothing.
It is time we remind them that customers are in charge as they pay the bill.
We just want what we pay for.

DO NOT PUT THIS OFF DO IT NOW IT WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE!!
