Hi,

I have set up a PC with windows 2000 professional. I have all applications working just how I want them except for the DUN.

There will be one admin and two power users. I know that if I make all users admins then they will be able to access the modem but how do I set up the PC to allow Power Users to be able to dial up the internet through the modem?

Any help gratefully accepted.

Thanks

Hi Boab,

If I remember correctly, you should be able to set up DUN as an administrator, the last option during setup is something like "This user only" or "Make available to all users"..... Making the DUN available to all users is the thing to do ;)

Having said that, I could be confusing 2k with xp, so if the option isn't there, post again & I'll fire up the 2k PC and have a look for ya ;)

Of course if it does not show in their screens just set-up a dun connection in their profile :D

[for reference] if anyone is wanting to help people then there are screen shots of all windows dun and control panels at www.modemhelp.net (http://www.modemhelp.net/screenshots/index.shtml) as well as a full list of dun and outlook error codes (http://www.modemhelp.net/errorsindex.shtml)

As handyman says, you should have no problem setting up DUN individualy in each profile.

When each user is set as a power user it will not even retain the area code, ie 0141
