View Full Version : PS2 cannot see left controller!

Hi, I have a scph 35003, the left game port and memory card slot do not work, I have replaced the ribbon, but no luck, any one have any ideas? Or do i need to replace the connector block section the pad plugs in to.

Hi, it was intermittent, then it has suddenly died, cannot get anything from it!

isit it possible to swap the left connector block with the right one? Just to test to see it thats what it is.

Hi, I thought of that, the whole block is one assy, both ports, and memory card ports are all in one, they are connected by a 40(ish) way ribbon, I have replaced that. I have looked on ebay if anyone was selling bits, just to try the port assy. No luck!

What version is your PS2?

This fits versions 4 to 7 and its only £9

if your PS2 is version 1-3 the controller block will have two holes each side of it, if its a version 4-7 it will have three holes each side

Cheers! Thats the bit I am after, its worth the money to try it, has to be that. Mine is a version 4 i believe, will check.

look at previous post, ive added a line so that you know for sure which version it is by checking the number of holes on the controller block

2 Holes = Vers 1 - 3
3 holes = Vers 4 - 8

Hi, thanks for the info, it is a 35003, and it has 3 holes at each end, so that confirms it is a version 4!

Hi again,I did order the new controller port, it arrived today, but guess what, it is the wrong version, it only has 2 holes either end, also it is definately not new, someone has removed some stickers from it, and tried to clean it up! now they dont answer the phone!
