Having had the PS2 working online for ages it now has a really big problem.

Error says "unable to connect to the network. Please check network connection"

Obviously we have checked it and double checked it but have run out of ideas on what to look for. The network card appears to be correctly seated but we still get the message.

If anyone has any advice on how to test/fix this it would be very much appreciated.

Cheers

Mike

How is your PS2 connected, Mike? Directly to a modem or through a router or another computer? And is this an ethernet connection?

Thank you for coming back so quick.

It's a wireless etheret connection using a belkin router.

Do you have anything else running through the router and is that working Ok?

There's someone who posts in this forum, goes by levig and knows about Belkin stuff - most likely it's something in your settings, although something might be messing up the wireless signals.

Have you tried changing the wireless channel? AFAIK you'd have to do that in the router settings and at the wireless connector on your PS2. although I'm not sure of that.

Plug the PS2 direct into the modem to remove all possible problems. Does this work?

If so, plug the PS2 into the router by cable. Does this work?
