I think it shares space on Freeview with other channels.

On cable and Sky it has a dedicated space so has longer broadcast hours.

:erm: Are you asking why it's only on 6am to 6pm?

it stats next month. so it should be well here by now?? im sure it doesnt share space.. as there are plently of blank channels.. plus when its finished, you just get we'll be back at 6am sign, its only within the last few weeks i've know it was 24/7 on cable/digital.. :(

p.s bulldog hell?? i emailed them on: 21/10/2005 still no reply. lolThat's not quite the way it works - lots of channels share the same capacity and don't appear on the same number. If only things were that simple! :)

There's a very useful website that explains it pretty well: http://www.aums30.dsl.pipex.com/home.htm

As you can see, each multiplex only has a limited 'full' capacity - on 1, B, C and D it's 18000kbps and 24000kbps on all the others (remember that you've got to get all video, audio and interactive data into that capacity). The reason why some are 16QAM and some 64QAM is that 16QAM offers better signal quality over a wider area, at the loss of some capacity.
