Top Gun sure looks flipping good. This is the kind of film which needs a sequel (and I wouldn't a remake) so the technology of technology (effects) and can compliment the style and tone of the film and the writers can achieve what they want to visually.

It's a shame Marvel haven't done something. It would have been good to have a chat about what has happened and what is to come and a little behind the scenes featurette of what they are working on atm. Maybe they prioritise that stuff for the Disney Expo.

Okay I am going to have another crack at it. I am really glad I watched that and it has brought back all my Marvel love and goodness. I wanted to watch it just to immerse myself in all things Marvel but I go so much more out of it. It speaks volumes that they were able to get all the actors to attend and spend a few minutes on stage with the fans, it shows how much they embrace the franchise and care about the legacy.
It wasn’t all about fan worship, there were a few surprises in it for me. I defo wasn't aware that they were doing another Thor film. I thought Chris Hemsworth's contract was up with Robert Downey and Chris Evans’ so that is a nice surprise. The other thing which I loved is how the new Disney streaming service is a blessing in disguise for them. We have been introduced to so many superb characters in the MCU who each have their own depth and story but every character can't have their own film. TV series provide a medium for that and although I was aware of the Loki series, I didn't know about the Falcon series or the others so that is great news again and is a way to keep all of those characters alive in the minds of the audience and fans. The one thing I was surprised about is that given the popularity of Black Panther that there isn’t a series in the pipeline for some side stories with Okoye or Nakia. I suppose the next two films are going to keep Wakanda alive and well and once they have done those and furthered the story they will explore what options are available story wise for the tv. It will be a very clever move, provide an infusion of some new and popular content to Disney’s streaming service in five or so years time and no doubt mega $$$.
The funny thing is that I was thinking about Angelina Jolie the other day. I read something in the news about one of the actors who worked on Tomb Raider being involved in some sort of accident and as soon as you say Tomb Raider I think of Angelina Jolie. I was thinking about how physically fit she was back then in films like that and Salt and how she went downhill. Last time I saw her at the Oscars she was looking very thin and frail. It will be awesome if they can bring her back to her prime and seeing her kick ass like ScarJo. She definitely looked fit and well on stage in that video. Having those two together = $$$ for Marvel.
The other thing I loved were the caps. I know it is a little thing and peanuts to them in the grand scheme of things but I love little touches like that. It shows respect and admiration for the fan base and is a way of keeping them included and energised in the franchise.

I have to agree with everything you've said Marvel have certainly shown how much they value the fans of MCU.

I'm guessing here but I don't think Chris Helmsworth will have a large part in the next Thor movie as Natalie Portman will be picking up Thor's hammer and become Mighty Thor. There's a good write up HERE (https://www.vox.com/culture/2019/7/23/20703577/natalie-portman-thor-love-and-thunder-mighty-thor) on that. Perhaps he'll only appear for a short while for the handover, sort of.

Another thing I found surprising is that although they shoed a trailer for Black Widow at SDCC they won't allow it to be posted online for some reason. From what I've managed to pick up so far it'e going to be awesome!

There is a breakdown of the trailer though but it doesn't feature any footage from the film. Make of it what you will.

one thing I didn't pick up on is that there is no Ant-Man 3 in there. I have just looked it up and there are rumours going around that Kevin Feige & co are so busy with Fantastic 4, X-men and the other new franchises that they are going to move Ant-Man to Disney+ as a series as it is more kid orientated. It will be a shame because I loved the movies and it they still bring in $$$. If it does move to a series I hope we will still get to see him in the Avengers movies and crossover events.
