[General Maximus]

Below is my own personal list of the films I will be seeing at the cinema. I know we all have different tastes so feel free to post your lists as well and between us we can come up with one master list and I'll put links in and trailers etc as they become available. Tbh next years list looks a bit cack so I am hoping there are some good films I don't know about. I feel like I am at least 10 films short and there isn't anything to watch in January and February.

very very interesting. So are we assuming that either a time stone is used by Captain Marvel or Antman does something in one of those quantum vortices he is trapped in and somebody goes back in time, changes the course of events and a new alternate timeline emerges?

Makes it all very exciting. We are expecting the post credits scene for Captain Marvel to tie straight in to Endgame and presumably now and post credits scenes (or one of) for Endgame will feed straight into Spiderman.

I'm not sure about taking animé and changing the style to "real life" 3D animation. I remain to be convinced.

I am sure it will be huge either way (china) and i'll make a prediction now that it will hit $1.5bn globally. I think the only 2 films which will beat it this year are Endgame and Star Wars Episode IX, with Captain Marvel and Lion King coming in very close behind.

I am still not feeling it. Unfortunately I think this is going to be a colossal disappointment. When I saw the trailers for Beauty and the Beast and the Lion King I got a certain feeling about them and knew/know they are going to be good. I originally watched them in release order at the cinema and chose to do so when I have gone back and rewatched them in the run up to Infinity War and Endgame. The only tweak I made is not watching Hulk at all because it is a different actor and spoils my realism factor and I watch Captain America first. Although I know what is coming, because the Marvel movies flow into each other and stories and characters crossover I like to watch CA:TFA first because it sets up SHIELD, has more significance and lets you appreciate it more when you hear about it in Iron Man. Rey (Daisey Ridley) and Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) appeared in a later scene, fighting on a downed ship in the middle of the ocean as waves crashed around them. The biggest crowd pleasing shot occurred at the end of the reel, with Rey wearing a dark hood, sporting a double lightsaber. The footage hasn't been released online.

I am reserving judgement. A trailer can make even the most rubbish of films (TLJ) look good. I loved the music though, i can listen to the Star Wars soundtracks all day.

Well looking at the trailer it certainly does not look like Rey.

I am pretty sure it is Rey. She just has a emotionless expression and the framing of her face is different due to the cloak. Her expression and the nature of the shot makes me think something isn't as it seems though...

Not to mention if they really were going to make her move to the dark side they wouldn't put in a trailer, spoiling it ahead of a big reveal in the film itself. I also think they would have done it in the last film.

Only makes sense if they're going to keep her for future films as the big bad. Can't have her switch and be killed off (presumably) in one film.

Still on the fence about Joker.

It's a fresh take on the origins of the character and I think I am intrigued by it. Society made him crazy.

Also I think it's going to be rated 18.

Terminator didn't grab me in the first teasers, especially after how poor the last ones have been. However the new trailer really made it sound great, I hope it's not just the editing of said trailer.

I also love that it ignores everything after T2, and follows on from it directly. Linda H still looks badass in it.

The reception to Joker is that it's quite good and quite dark. It seems to be going down a realistic path and displaying the breakdown of someone rather than leaning into the Batman thing. This is a film that's premiered at Venice rather than getting a big blockbuster release.

I don't know. The reviews are good too. I don't see why you can't have a different take on comic book movies, it's what Christopher Nolan did so well with the Batman series.

Marvel are already doing their Marvel thing. DC might be making a good decision to take a different direction instead. Especially with Batman since it's usually been a darker, grittier universe.

you are right. I got an email last week saying "your new copy of SFX is on the way" and normally it comes the next day after the email. I was conscious of the fact that it was late and if it hadn't have come within the next few days I was going to give them a ring and tell them it must have got lost in the post. I have been a subscriber for about 11 years and haven't lost a copy yet.
