View Full Version : Unicyclist run over on busy London street
A crowd of heroic bystanders freed a seriously injured unicyclist from under a bus after it knocked him down in Walthamstow during the evening rush hour.
The victim was left fighting for his life in hospital after being hit by a number 212 bus in Hoe Street just before 6pm today.

I'm not sure I have too much sympathy for the cyclist but well done to the passers by who stepped in to assist.
I hope the cyclist is going to be ok

a unicycle belongs in the circus not on the road what a prat
What was a unicyclist doing on a busy London road in the first place?
I hope the police decide to charge him with something. Think of the shock that poor bus driver must have gone through, let alone any passengers.

I'm sure it'll be 'someone else's fault...'
I've seen the same thread on a few forums today with the difference being they were about how people reacted to try and save him instead of the 'cyclists suck' tone of this thread.

Yes I got that impression. But as forceful as your opinion is, it doesn't constitute the 'tone of this thread'. ;)
Not yet anyway...
I'm sure Arthur'll be along soon to blame Boris.

He probably thinks the reason why the bike only had one wheel is because of government cuts ...
This re-affirms my faith in humanity - a very large group of strangers helping someone who has been hurt.
There's hope for us yet.

We're all horrible :)
they probably just moved him out the way so they could drive through.

That's not how it reads to me but I'm sure the OP will clarify if I've misunderstood.

I can't wait any longer for the real Arthur to turn up :D:
I blame Boris; he is a Tory. People can't afford their own HGV's or buses and have to resort to cycling thanks to this Government. Already half a dozen people, many of them young women, have been killed on Boris's roads this year. He need educating. Cyclist have no right to live in London. What is Boris thinking of? He is a Tory. I blame him. And David Cameron. Unicyclist should have been on pavement. NO. I mean, not on pavement or road but in Covent Garden juggling. Why does no-one listen to me?

Unicycles are unstable enough on smooth level surfaces. On a pavement or road it would be like being drunk on a bicycle.
