My coaxial aerial plug on the back of the tv is damaged, would i be able to connect my tv aerial (for freeview) into a scart socket (via adaptor) instead ?

Simple answer is NO.. SCART has no provision for an RF input and is composite/RGB signals only

Or you could get a full-size freeview set-top box.

What you could do though is buy a cheap freeview box put the aerial into that and connect to tv using scart. Cheaper than buying a new tv or getting it repaired.

It's not exactly an adaptor but a reciever in it's own right.. ;) I presumed he was looking at using the built in freeview with the antenna going throught the scart socket

Thanks, this could be the answer ! the freeview is built into the tv so im thinking this the only way to be able to watch freeview, the other option is to get it repaired but its gonna cost too much and the warranty doesnt cover accidental damage.

Cheap freeview boxes are around £15. Or perhaps you could try your home contents insurance as this is there for accidents.

Check for any excess on your home insurance as £100 + is very common now.
