50 to 100 upgrade question

So I gave VM a call this morning to upgrade my broadband speed to 100Mb from 50Mb and was to it would be 2 pound less on my monthly bill. So I went for it. Reducing my monthly charges from £109 odd to £107 odd. Then after waiting a couple of minutes I got told it's not available in my area. Most strange I thought as my neighbour up stairs has 100Mb. I have been advised to call back in 2 weeks when it'll be available. Sounds like rubbish to me. Any thoughts people?

I phoned about an hour ago and I know that 100mb is in my area now as the postcode check and other people on here in the same area have been upgraded to it, but when I called I was told that it wasn't in my area yet and she recommend I just wait till July as that when I will be upgraded for free, before then I would have to pay! This was from retentions.

So it would seem the briefing at VM before the phones started to ring was to fob all customers off then?

i upgraded last week to 100mb and liverpool was one of the last areas to be done, so ben is correct about it defo go through to rententions department tho get better deal

I have just got off the phone to a friendly rep at retentions who has cleared up my issue. He explained that although 100Mb is available on the online checker the availablility is limilted due to the high demand and the town is awaiting the upgrades on the network, so to wait for the free upgrade coming soon.

mine been upgraded from 30 Meg to 100 Meg after a phone call! Even thought my area is not yet upgrade until October 2012 to July 2013.

I am now paying £30.00 a month for 100 Meg (a discount of £4.50 off for 12 months)

Did you ask to be upgraded directly to the 100Mb Tier telford? Suprised they didn't stick you on the XXL 100 tier like they did with me.

They certainly should have done
