Morning guys, was wondering if any one elese on the Uddingston UBR has had any issues lately? Yesterday had a big outage in the morning with no TV and Broadband, it was fixed by the time I got home from work.

However watching TV in the evening the picture was getting quite a lot of pixels and some channels displayed error message with no signal received, the broadband was fine tho.

Now this morning internet was very very slow so logged into the superhub and the powerlevels was way off and one of the channels wasn't even locking on. I tried to get to the Service status page but it was so slow I couldn't get to it before I had to run to work.

At work I logged into the status page and it is showing everything ok, so was just wonderign if anyone else has had any issues this morning? I hope its ok when I get back home and I dont have to phone to get an engineer out.

Had problems here last night too (SS3)
Must had been some maintanance or something because our connection started playing up around 11.30pm and subsequently completely died out in the hour or so that followed

Its not a singular occurance in the last week either, it conked out on sunday too.
Will give it a few more days if it persists will have to contact support and get it checked

Maybe its them doing work for the 100mb, really hope its workign when I get home as I really dont wanna phone 150. If its due to upgrade work I wouldn't mind that much but it would been nice to get an email saying work will take place and you might get disruptions...but then again I can dream.

Does this mean I need to get engineer out to sort something out? It's weird though as levels was fine earlier but what ever it is is affecting the tv too.

My internet is wosre since upload speed increased..just before upload increased my ping went down to 25 now at 56 according to speedtest and graph for download was very good no peaks and troughs( i understand that speedtests are not always reliable)but surely work done on internet should help :confused:Due to reading comments on here about upgrades is it just virgin doing upgrades on the cheap:dozey: or is more work still to be done

Jumping

Well until tuesday my connection was fine after the upgrade, there is more working planned or possibly going on right now as Uddingston is suppose to get the 100mb capability from May and think June or July is when my "free" double speed is kicking in according to the "green box"

Spoke too soon, went out again shortly after that :)
Went to do something else hoping it'd sort itself before I got back, its been a couple hours give or take and the connection has continually gone down/come back up since

Could be worse in the sense at least this is going on during the week, I will be a bit cheesed off if this continues into the weekend though. Like the other guy I am dreading having to use the 150 support because of the outsourcing

yeah make sure you explain how its fine then drops, your SNR is dropping as well so theres a laser or amp problem there

Yeah will keep some logs available from different times to show the change in values, this morning connection had disconnected and the shub (in modem mode) wasn't locked on then as I was having breakfast it got connected for a bit. Powerlevels was similar to last night but connection was very flakey.

Think it could be a long wait till Monday morning....

I'll give it the weekend, theres every chance the service dumping like this is just a side effect of the maintanance going on, beyond that if it stays poor I'll ring up at that point

I find dealing with offshore call centers particularly stressful and in many cases unhelpful because of the scripted/canned responses so I hope it doesn't come to that, its probably why I've been a little more patient about the problem.

Have a good weekend chaps!

low SNR, not connecting, that power level is a false reading, only because its not connecting properly to all the channels
